Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

My wife and I recently attended a meeting at our local real estate investors club who had Chris Johnson - Grant Funding Expert - in as a guest speaker.  After hearing how much money Chris could help people obtain in grants for new businesses, college tuition for our daughters, and down payments on a new home, we were pressured to buy his system right then for $997 (which he claimed was a substantial discount off of his normal price).

While people were flocking to the table to purchase his Grant Funding Expert program, we looked up his online website on our phones and saw that he offered a 30-day money back guarantee and decided to purchase the course as well.

Here is a copy of the money-back guarantees from his website (http://www.grantfundingexpert.org/united-states-free-money-system/

Chris’s Guarantee #1:Ripoffreport Report Image

My aim is for you to be 100% satisfied with my Free Money Grants & Loans program, and if for some reason you aren’t completely satisfied with the in-depth information you receive in the course materials and invaluable email consulting, contact my office within 30 days and ask for your money back. I’ll promptly return every penny to you. No questions asked at all.

I’m confident that if you employ all the strategies, techniques, and resources I share with you, you will greatly increase your chances of success with receiving grants and subsidies for business, education, or real estate. Better yet, when you receive your qualifying grant within one year of your seminar purchase, I’ll gladly give you back what you paid for my course! (A qualifying grant has a dollar value at least equal to the purchase price of the course.) All I ask is that you send my office a written testimonial with a smiling photo of you and your grant cheque.

==================================================================

We received some automated emails in the first week and replied to a questionnaire regarding the specific grants we were interested in pursuing but did not receive any response for the next week.  We then called the phone number and there was no answer and a message said we could not leave a message because the mailbox was full.

We decided that we would not get the support we needed and after a few more attempts to call over the next couple of days without reaching anyone, I logged into his "live" seminar and typed into the chat box that we wanted to cancel multiple times.

I received a call within minutes from Chris Johnson himself who tried to convince me and my wife to "give him another chance" instead of canceling.  I advised him that I would only consider it if he gave us a 60-day money back guarantee in writing (which he did via email).

We tried to explore if we could in fact qualify for any grants that we were seeking and found out that we probably would not.  We requested to cancel the course via email and obtain a full refund and was told it would be issued after all materials were returned (at our expense).

We returned everything and received confirmation that it had been received both by Federal Express and the customer service at Grant Funding Expert 4 days later. However, more than 2 weeks after it was received, we still did not receive the $997 refund that was promised.

We had documented everything in writing and have filed a dispute with the credit card company for the charge but the frustration and time involved simply trying to get Chris Johnson and his Grant Funding Expert company to honor their word and guarantee has been very frustrating to say the least.

Real Estate Investing Club of L.A. Update NOT ACCURATE

I read the rebuttal from the Real Estate Investing Club of Los Angeles and was shocked at the inaccuracies that they portrayed in their statements.  First of all, we contacted Chris Johnson within a few days of purchase and left a voice mail to cancel but did not receive a reponse because as he phrased it, he and his team were "busy out of town selling at a live seminar."  When he did call back, he apologized and essentially begged my wife and I not to cancel and only AFTER he offered us a 60-day money back guarantee, did we agree to try to move forward and see if he could really help us.

After a very generic response to our specific quesitons regarding what types of grants we could potentinally qualify for, my wife and I agreed that we did not have any faith that his program would actually help us and requested to cancel once again.  We were told that we would have to return the materials received at the seminar before a refund could be issued and I sent them Federal Express the same day.

When we followed up with Chris Johnson to receive a refund, he said that he tried to contact the Real Estate Investing Club of Los Angeles and they had "hung up the phone on him."  He also stated that it appeared that he would have to eat the entire cost of the refund but that he would do it since he had made the guarantee to us in writing to do so.  However, approximately two weeks went by and we had still not received the credit back to our credit card that was originally charged as promised.

If we were asked to sign something stating that we were to contact the Real Estate Investing Club of Los Angeles, we were not given a copy of it.  Also, we were reading the 30-day money back guarantee on the speaker's website while he was talking and only decided to sgn up because we knew we had sufficient time to review the matierials.  We would have NEVER knowingly signed up with only a 3-day cancellation period as there was too much material to be reviewed in that short of timeframe and would not have felt comfortable that we were getting a good value for our $997.

To say that I had time to copy the materials before returning them was a weak and frankly cowardly excuse for the Real Estate Investing Club of Los Angeles to cite for refusing to issue the refund.  Also, even though I never received a copy of anything in writing stating that we were supposed to contact them, the Real Estate Investing Club of Los Angeles had all of my contact information from the information form I completed.  They could have reached out to me at any time to discuss and resolve the situation or answer any questions they had prior to doing so.  Their failure to even make one attempt to contact us shows what little interest they had in getting this matter resolved.

We contacted the seller of the program we had purchased the product directly from, the same person who had taken my credit card from my hand, and who also handed me the materials directly himself, to request the refund in the absence of any provided materials to the contrary.   I believe in the end that Chirs Johnson tried to do the right thing and turned out to appear to be a man of his word in how he stayed in contact with us and worked to resolve the situation.

After this experience however, I have removed myself from all emails, meetup notifications, and solicitation from the Real Estate Investing CLub of Los Angeles as I believe they truly have no one's best interest in mind except their own.  I would not be interested in ever associating with that organization or attend any other meetings they hosted ever again.

#4UPDATE Employee ..inside information

Fri, November 18, 2016

I have details of this complaint that the Crider's failed to mention.  I do not work for Chris Johnson but contracted with him to speak.

Mr. and Mrs. Crider were 2 of 90 people who walked to the back table to purchase the program.

The Criders filled out a sales form from our club to purchase the program, not Chris Johnson's company.  The Criders signed that he accepted our terms and agreement of this purchase and our refund policy which states       1) I acknowledge that all purchased are refundable within 3 calendar days based on the return of course materials received in new condition less restocking fee of 15%.   2) in the event that I request a refund, I will contact IRCA in writing at above email to receive a return authorization number...

The Criders did none of that, even though they signed acceptance of terms and received a copy of the agreement.   What they did do was call the speakers office while he was on the road at other events and leave several messages.  When the speaker did return from these engagements,  he called and worked to make it up to them.  He offered a 30 day return, but Bryan insisted on 60.  After Bryan and Jill received via email, the grants they were interested in applying for, approximately 5-6 of them with contact information,  they cancelled.  I was contacted by Chris Johnsons office about this and decided since the Criders did not follow the terms of the agreement, they did not deserve a refund, especially since they already received the specific information that was researched through Chris' office.  They had time to read and copy the materials before returning them to Chris.

Not once had I heard from the Criders,  even when Chris explained that their refund was up to me because of the sales agreement they signed with me.   Instead, they bombarded Chris' office with nasty emails demanding their money back after they received the information they requested.   Chris does not deserve this report or treatment.  Chris Johnson is an upstanding trainer with great information and you should not shy away from his company or product.
