One year ago, our family pet underwent emergency exploratory surgery resulting in $3,800 vet bill. A friend recommended Cash Call for emergencies. I called and asked plenty of questions, what I didn't do is my homework on ripoffreport first along with legal research.

To make a long story short. My employer (out of New York) pays employees every other Friday -- a real problem when everything is due 1st and 15th. Needlesstosay, I did take out a loan for $2,500 with Cash Call, making arrangements to pay the 15th of each month (draft on household account at bank). Even though I made arrangements in advance of due date, I was constantly harrassed and received not only calls at 7:30 am - 10 pm CST but e-mails as well. On any given day, I have received from 4-8 contacts from Cash Call demanding I make my payment immediately or they would contact my employer and guarnish my wages, ruin my credit.

I demanded they cease and decist their harrassing calls and verbage. . .it never ceased and eased up at any given time, keeping in mind I stayed in touch on a constant basis. Less than 1 year later, I call 8/8/08 letting Cash Call know I was paying the entire loan off on or before 15th using my IRS refund. I called on 8/8, 8/12 advising my check, according to IRS on line, was to be deposited 8/15 and I would be paying my loan off that day but I would call back for the correct pay-off balance.

I called on Friday, 8/15/08, requesting the pay off amount for my entire loan balance as of that day and was quoted $2,330.45. I was asked if I wanted to do a check by phone and I asked how long it would take to process, their response was 3-4 days. While talking I thought a moment as the Customer Service Rep talked (I don't trust this company and, if I wait more than likely -- 3-4 days they might tack on extra interest) so, I suggested I pay tomorrow, Saturday, 8/16/08 via MoneyGram (CASH) and call back with the confirmation number that way Cash Call would have its money and my loan would be paid in its entirety -- full and final. The CSR said if you pay tomorrow 8/16/08, then your payoff figure will need to be $2,336.45, I said fine, that's what I will do -- I'll pay it off entire tomorrow via MoneyGram and, DID just that.

After paying wiring the entire $2,336.45, I took my receipt, the agent highlighted the Confirmation # to use with Cash Call. I then called Cash Call from my car giving Cash Call's Customer Service Rep the confirm # and the amount - at which point she replied, "Your payoff receipt (loan documents) will be mailed and it will take 3-5 days. If you don't receive the paperwork by Thursday, (8/21/08) or Friday (8/22/08) of next week, call us. I then demanded a letter be sent to all THREE credit bureaurs stating the entire balance of Cash Call loan has been paid in full. By the way, all of the Cash Call victims out there, Cash Call slams your credit bureau reports -- totally, even if you're paying on time!!!! So, be aware of that and pull credit reports from all 3 immediately.

As of this evening's call with Cash Call, they claim I now owe them $245 because I froze my account from any and all drafts from Cash Call - reject all - I don't give permission at all. I paid my loan off on the due date and was given a quote 2 different days with 2 witnesses listening on the speaker portion of my cell phone. I am contacting the Attorney General for the State of Texas and California as well as the FCC (Cash Call does business on-line and via phone) for its preditory lending infringements not to mention the fraudulent way it conducts its business -- nasty, threatening, harrassing, over abundant calls per day not to mention the horrific comments on one's credit report that brought my report down almost 100 points!

YES, we can file a class action lawsuit, I was a claimant in a class action lawsuit against Providian VISA for excess fees, misrepresentation and excessive fees -- we WON! I say all those interested need to have one attorney to contact, doesn't matter the state -- but California is really strict about these type of businesses so, CA and TEXANS take action!!!

By the way, I work for a law firm and was cautious but not cautious enough. I will assure you, I will never use Cash Call again. In fact, I intend on doing all I can to see that Cash Call is not able to conduct business as they are currently if any at all. This firm needs to be shut down by the legal system. Cash Call needs to be put out of business for not only its incredible violation of preditory lending infractions but the threats to one's life, job and excessive call procedures! We elect our senators and congressman/woman, what the hell's going on when they pass some laws even allowing these "mafia styled" preditory, lending corporations to transact business in any state?

I've copied this and sent it to "Dateline" -- they can do programming on "On-line Preditors" this is different but it is victimizing, harrassing and verbally threatening Americans all over US! Just look at complaints listed on Rip Off Report -- let's do something about it and quit discussing it - take action, count me in!!!!!

CashCall is a vicious, predatory lender that is unfortunately operating under the law. Usury laws have largely been gutted in this nation and they are free to charge whatever they want. Always get any terms about any settlement in writing PRIOR to paying...if you don't, they'll come back for more....as you found out.
