I recently had permanent lipstick and lipliner performed by Caroline Miller-Erickson at Salon XS in Mesa, Arizona. She performed the procedure 3 times, on Oct. 10, Nov. 9 and Jan 28, with poor results each time. The color of the lipliner and lipstick never did blend well, and, the last time, she made the left side of my lip higher than the right!

The color of the lipliner is so dark that I must wear lipstick so that the liner doesn't stand out so much. I also have to wear lipliner to even out the two sides of my upper lip. (Both of which defeat the purpose of even having the procedure done.) I have discussed my unhappiness both with Caroline and the owners of the salon.

Caroline commented that, since this was paid for by my mother as a Christmas gift, I "shouldn't be complaining so much." The owners of the salon offered to have Caroline try to repair the damage she had done. Of course, I said no. I have asked for a refund of my purchase proce, $975.00. I will have to go through several laser treatments to lighten the color of the lipliner, do tattoo removal to bring down the left side of my lip, and then have the colors of both the lipliner and lipstick redone to blend evenly. The owners of the salon have refused to do anything, monetarily, to remedy the situation.

It's not as though this is a bad haircut that will grow out in time. This is a permanent and painful procedure that should have been done correctly the first time. Caroline claims that she is a professional who has been practicing for years. If so, then shouldn't she be able to trace a line? She could not even follow the lines of my lips.

The cost for the repairs which I will need to have will run into the thousands of dollars. I am simply asking for a refund of a procedure which was not performed to my satisfaction. I feel disfigured. People have even come up to me and asked me "What is wrong with your lips?" My mother and friend were going to have Caroline perform permanent cosmetics on them, and I have told them to not let her touch them. I am also telling everyone else who asks about my lips where I got them done and not to go there.

PLEASE HELP ME GET MY MONEY BACK!!

First of all, it will fade, and most permanent cosmetic professionals guarantee color for only five years; and secondly the method for correcting is not laser, in fact there are pigments in the lighter skin and lip tones that could easily solve the problem described. I believe this person who is complaining about being ripped off did not take the time to think about the color that SHE the client selected from the artist. The permanent makeup professional, is exactly that, a trained professional to apply the pigments selected and approved by the client. This person should have picked her colors more carefully. I think this woman should go back to the person who applied her lip color, apologize for the exaggerated complaint and exaggerated cost of fixing and ask about the policy for touchups.
