CAMEL MOVING AND STORAGE cheated me! When I called CAMEL MOVING & STORAGE I was quoted a per hour/per man price, free plastic wrap, blankets, and wardrobe boxes by a young woman named LAURIE or LAURA. That is where their scam started.

CAMEL MOVING took advantage of me. They made me their victim and they didn't care. Laurie/Laura did not send conformation of the price as promised. I called ahead to confirm, still no conformation. I only moved a short distance. Everything I had was packed and ready to go. No extras needed. It should have been an easy move. I spoke with Brian (if that's his real name) also. He may be the owner. He seems to coach Laurie/Laura what to say. He will not involve himself at all, to busy carting all the money to the bank I suppose.

CAMEL MOVERS showed up and some valubles were set aside to go in my car. CAMEL MOVERS were told "not to touch them". When I was out of the room, they "broke" my valubles into pieces and stuck them into boxes to pad their account. They packed broken junk that they were told to leave behind. They dismanteled (2) build in glass display cabinets that were part of the apartment, and stole them.

CAMEL MOVING & STORAGE lost or stole a number of my items, both personal and pieces to furniture. That furniture is now ruined. They damaged, computers, monitors, etc. Then rushed everything out before I saw (or caught onto) what they had done in order to pad their account and make more money. They lied, they cheated!

CAMEL MOVING & STORAGE broke and damaged so many of my belongings, it's hard to believe anyone (much less an entire company) could have been so cruel, so cold, so heartless, so mean, so evil. There was multiple damage to many pieces of furniture, along with missing pieces. Beloved items gone forever!

CAMEL MOVING added an extra three (3) hours to their billing. One of those hours was evidently when they detoured to cut open my boxes (just enough to fit their hands inside). A large assortment of small items are missing from inside those boxes. Some were very valuable.

CAMEL MOVERS distracted me repeatedly, taking my attention away from the cut open boxes and broken items, while overcharging me, and stealing the paperwork.

CAMEL MOVING & STORAGE and their man in charge named TOMAS, charged me over twice the quote they had given me, leaving me to believe that I'd signed for a much lesser amount. Then they stole the paper work so I would not find out what they'd really charged. I had to call my credit card company that evening to find out what I had actually been charged. The law says they are suppose to give a confimed quote ahead of time (THEY DID NOT DO THAT).

The credit card company doesn't care (A.E.), they just want the money. A.E. ignored a huge amount of picture and witness proof. They are very greedy also. The consumer people I spoke with indicated the credit card people who investigate these cases, get paid very well by the moving companies.

CAMEL MOVING & STORAGE of course charged for itmes I did not use or need. Boxes, bubble wrap, etc., anything they could add on, just to pad their account.

CAMEL MOVING & Storage stole, cheated, lied, and damaged an enormous amount of my property. They were not only careless, but destructive, rushing, so that they could pad their account and make more money. It meant nothing to any of them (even their office workers), that they destroyed so much of my property.

When eventually in contact with Laurie/Laura she laughed! She found it to be quite humorous. She called "me" the liar... Then she proceeded to order me around, tell me what to do, when to do it? As though I were dumb fourth class trash. Can you imagine that? After they robbed me?

CAMEL MOVING AND STORAGE ARE OUT OF PACOIMA, CALIFORNIA. THEY ARE VERY DISHONEST. Consumer Credit companies such as the BBB have indicated there are many, many complaints against them...I have been informed by consumer companies that CAMEL MOVING & STORAGE has had MANY INSURANCE and LICENSING PROBLEMS ALSO.

They just pay and get another license. You can get the list if you supena the BBB and the Consumer Credit to Court along with the moving company, but that's the only way. Moving companies are protected by laws that should be meant to protect the consumer. However, there are a number of websites that have them listed. It's not an easy search but they are there.

BE WARE! KEEP AN EYE OUT FOR THIS BAND OF THIVES!

Ayal Chavoinik (Camel's owner) , you say you work hard to keep your name in good standing. Can you tell us what this means, taken from the BBB's report for Camel Moving? "Some complainants allege the total moving cost exceeded the written estimate price given before the move, items were lost or stolen, or damages occurred during transport. Other customers complain they encountered difficulties submitting damage claims or receiving compensation for their losses. The company addresses complaints regarding lost or damaged items by advising customers of the insurance coverage they purchased, and by advising them on claims procedures. The company responds to other complaints by referring to their contract, which states they are not responsible for damage to particle wood furniture or linoleum flooring. " Of the 27 complaints listed, 4 have not been dealt with. 14 of the others forced you to perform according to the contract, meaningyou had admitted that you were not performing according to the contract before that time. 7 other times, you felt so bad that you were forced to give mney back to settle the dispute. I would also love to hear your take on the $3020 fine the DOT slapped on your for using a physically unqualified driver, only 2 months after you have received those four violations on your failure to keep your paperwork up to snuff. I would think you'd have learned. Does this sound like the record of a company that treats its customers well and cares about its image? I'm not a fan of the BBB, and neither is this site, but this one report, that you tell everyone to go check out, shows EXACTLY why the original author of this complaint is completely believeable!

I work at Camel Moving & Storage for over 15 years. This company IS NOT as described!!! We are doing businees under the same name since 1991, and working with great pride and integrity. Most of our business comes from return cuatomers that have moved with us several times. We are working very hard at the customers residents, as well as at the office to do our very best to complete every job to the full satisfaction of our customers. We never ever take anything from the customers house (it's a complete lie)and if there is any kind of problem or damage, we will do anything that is possible to resolve it to the full satisfaction of our customer. The report that is written here lookes compltly false. If at any of our moving jobs there is a claim or a complaint, we will always solve the problem immidiatly with great respect, honest, and fair resolts.We will always treat our customers with full respect,give full and honest estimate, and complete the job 100%. Thank you for readind our side and hope that it will be considered as we really work hard to keep our name in good standing.(check the BBB).
