Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
BMG Music Service will send you a bunch of free CDs if you promise to buy just one within a year at regular club price. What they don't tell you is that it's impossible to fulfill this agreement because the club has special sales every period and the sale prices of the items are automatically substituted for the regular ones. I have tried to contact them about this to clarify exactly how it is one is able to fulfill the agreement, but so far they have simply e-mailed me back my own request.

Any advice about what myself or the rest of us ripped-off music lovers should do to remedy this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Don't worry, they are going under, anyway. Here is an email I received from them in March. We'd like to tell you about some upcoming changes to your membership. BMG Music Service is being discontinued as of June 30, 2009. That doesn't mean your music savings are coming to an end. Your savings can continue with our other service, yourmusic.com, where shipping is always free and there are no automatic shipments. Here's some important information regarding your current account: * You will receive one more Featured Selection Announcement email from us. * You will still be able to shop at bmgmusic.com through May 31, 2009. * We have discontinued our Music Points program, effective January 31, 2009. You will be able to redeem your outstanding music points through April 30, 2009. * You'll have through May 31, 2009 to redeem certificates or free CDs you've earned. Remember, you can still shop online at bmgmusic.com and take advantage of our great selection and prices until May 31, 2009. Please make sure you have signed up to receive emails from us so you don't miss out on special offers and important updates. Click here to sign up. If you have any questions, you can call us at our Customer Service #: 1-888-443-8264 or email us at [email protected]. Sincerely, The Membership Office

BMG IS A Scam

I should know..I completed my agreement in full placed alot of orders and collected 4 free music vouchers (good for 5 free cds each) I had a $0 balance due so I turned in my first music voucher they sent my free cds..then I turned in my other 3 vouchers then I placed a large music order..they sent my order first and ignored my free vouchers..when I emailed them they made it sound like I ordered first and had a balance due prior to sending in the free cd vouchers..I proved to them that was not the case..they informed me after I "paid off my balance they would send me the cds with zero shipping charges added since they messed up my account" I paid off my balance then requested my free cds be shipped free of charge as promised..they ignored my emails for four months..I angrily sent a final request for my the music I was owed and promised..15 free cds! They then informed me since I didn't use the vouchers by the end of Dec. I was no longer elligible for the free music..I informed them I DID submit the vouchers before the deadline, but they screwed up and didn't send the music in time and I shouldn't be punished for it..they again admitted they messed up, but they was standing by their decision and I was basically sool! So I told them I wanted out they happily agreed, I later learned they changed their club around completely, if you don't list a cc with them they don't want you in the club. Suddenly out of nowhere they shipped my free music, but they charged me full price for them..I told them I did not want the music they could shove the cds..the discs never arrived so I rather doubt they did ship that order since it allegedly went out the day AFTER I left the club..BMG was forced to return my balance back to $0 owed (thanx to the Attorney General who saw thru their scam) and I am free of BMG and their scam bs...btw if those dics do arrive I am keeping them..they owe me those cds and I want them!!

BMG MUSIC HAS A PHONE NUMBER

#4Consumer Suggestion

Mon, August 18, 2003

It took me awhile to resolve my issue also. However by doing a simple search in the online yellow pages I came up with not one but 2 phone numbers. I phoned a representative and resolved my issue. 317-692-9200 or call 317-542-6655 for CD club. This are real numbers for BMG Music Customer Service.

BMG is not a rip-off

I've been a member of BMG off and on for several years. I've never had a problem, and I think that some of the complaints that I'm reading are written by people who get frustrated and aren't patient with the service. If you sign up, you will get your 11 CDs for the price of 1. One person remarked that you order a featured selection to do this. However, you don't have to order a featured CD, especially since many of them are not what most people want. When you fill out the form, the first CD you choose on a reply form is ordered at regular club prices (unless it's an all discount catalog - very rare). All others are subject to the sales mentioned in the catalog and flyers. If you don't want to received a featured selection automatically, there are several ways to eliminate the unwanted discs. 1) Mail in the reply on time and check the "I don't want my featured selection." 2) Write them a letter and stipulate that you don't want to receive the featured selections unless you order them. 3) Choose to receive the packages on-line through your email account. Then you can decide through the web site what to order. 4) Simply mail the unwanted CDs back, unopened, by writing "Return to Sender" on the CD and drop it back in a mailbox. Additionally, you can cancel at any time after ordering your first selection and fulfilling your agreement. There is no hard sell to stay although they might call you if you provide a phone number. Simply tell them to put you on the "Do Not Call List." You can do the same if you receive snail mail. Or you can do what lots of other people do: accept the next offer, fulfill the agreement and cancel again. I've cancelled at least three times over the last 7 years, and they always ask me back. That's the inside scoop.
