Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBSTX) Insurance Coverage RipOff
My husbands' company change to Blue Cross Blue Shield, with our coverage effective date as May 1st, 2000. We signed up for coverage, and they are aware that a lot of employees have pre-existing conditions. Everyone was told there was no problem with that and so far this iss true. However, I had total knee replacement surgery on March 9th and am on pain meds and in physical therpy.
The problem is that no one has received their insurance cards yet and when the drug stores or doctors try to verify coverage they are unable to do so. The insurance company and the employer of my husband claim that there hasn't been enough time to get everything set up on the computers. The insurance company suggests everyone pay for everything themselves and they'll reimbursed them later. Plus as of this Friday the 12th, payments for the insurance is already coming out of our paychecks with us not actually being shown as covered by Blue Cross Blue Shield.
Both companies are blaming each other and we in the mean time are unable to get meds or proper treatment.I am 57 yrs old as of this coming Saturday and we're on limited income and can't afford to pay for office visits and meds.
My husband is employed by Aii Technologies. We pay for the insurance through them, and payroll deduction. We have 'letters' from the insurance confirming that our coverage is effective the 1st os May but won't get our ID cards till later.
Doctors and drug stores do not accept a letter and when the call to get a code to enter in thir computers the insurance compay can't help them at all so what good is the letter and why do we have to pay for services we are not getting at this point? I do believe it is illegal to charge for services not recived.
