I am SO DONE with Best Buy!!!

A few months ago, my mother and I woke up (early) to the sound of water. We thought it was somebody's sprinklers outside and thought nothing of it. Later that morning, the sound was still there, and even louder in the kitchen. We searched the entire house, and after we went outside and didn't hear it, we determined that it must be coming from the fridge. Sure enough, we turned on the light and there was a monstrous pool of water behind the fridge spreading steadily over the entire kitchen floor. Had we not turned on the light to see the water, I'm sure we would have slipped and fell.

After we moved the fridge we saw that the water line had busted and was spraying water all over the curtains which were drenched. We called Best Buy so they could send out one of their people. He changed the tube and that was that. Or so we thought. Not even a month later the water starts leaking again. They send a different guy who tells me that the first moron shoved the tube into a connection that was too small, so it busted. And these guys are supposed to be geeks?? More like brain-dead, inadequately trained, knock-off wanna-be dorks who are really gargantuan simpletons in disguise. So supposedly this mindless drone patches up the tube with the right connection, and all is right in the world. WRONG!!!!!! Just this morning we woke up to yet another puddle in the kitchen and we're just about ready to start breathing fire.

So we call these jerks at 5 in the morning so they could get on it. So the EXACT SAME GUY CAME BACK from the last incident. (On a side note, what really pissed me off about this guy is the fact that he's sitting here trying to make stupid, boring conversation when I'm CLEARLY not in the talking mood. Don't you have a job to do??? Preferably RIGHT this time??) He checks on the line and then has the absolute AUDACITY to tell me that the problem is our water pressure. WHAT THE $&%#??????? He flips on the sink faucet as though that's supposed to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the pressure is too high. Not only that, but he tells me that WE, NOT THEM have to get a plumber out here to lower the pressure. There are several things wrong with this: First, We've had all our appliances (purchased from Best Buy all at the same time) working beautifully for four years. Including the fridge. And this is the third time in less than six months that your idiot people have screwed up the work!! And now you expect me to believe that the d**n water is busting the water line??? That makes no sense!!! Your stuff is "supposed" to be designed for top-quality, or so you say, and your stupid tubes can't take some simple pressure? Second: NOBODY including this dude, told us that the line busting had ANYTHING to do with pressure. If that was truly the case, why in the HELL didn't you tell us about that the first time the tube was replaced? Because Best Buy doesn't know jack sh*# about fixing appliances! Third: We have no extra money to be spending on plumbers and we shouldn't HAVE to!! What's the good of wasting money for an extended warranty if they refuse to resolve the problem EFFECTIVELY and to our utmost satisfaction???

So this person flat out refused to replace the water line because he's insisting on the pressure being the problem. So I handed him the phone so my mother could tear him a new one. She told him to have Best Buy call us because this is unbelievably stupid for them to be wasting our time like this. So we talk to Best Buy later only to find out that they are STILL not gonna help us, and to contact the manufacturer. WHAT???? But its YOUR freakin warranty!! So the manufacturer wasn't any help at all and now we are stuck with a fridge with a a busted water line. No water, no ice. And Best Buy is just counting down the days until our warranty is truly up and they can wash their hands of us. Maybe Best Buy is a secret government ploy to not only suck up our money, but to thoroughly screw us over and make us wish them nothing if not a slow, torturous, excruciating, exquisitely painful death. They better hope they don't have to ask for a bailout.....I'd have a well-chosen answer for them......

Water line not part of the fridge? Best Buy is run by simpletons.

This is in response to "Bob". This water pressure business is a bunch of bull$h!t. There is no plausible reason why those tubes can't be replaced. I would understand if we were calling Best Buy every other month to fix these stupid tubes, but that's not the case. We spent HUNDREDS making sure that our appliances would be well taken care of. And to hear that after almost five years with no problems, the one time we call to have something simple fixed, we receive nothing but the run-around on top of constant ineptitude. The customer service is BEYOND rude. As soon as they hear you don't want their crappy service anymore, they find ways to either hang up on you, or talk to you in such a nasty, pissed off, bitchy manner you wish you never did business with them at all. What really aggravates me is the fact that I keep hearing that the water line is not part of the fridge. That is the most asinine comment I've ever heard. If we PAID to have it installed, in order for it to perform the FUNCTION required to make the d**n icemaker WORK in the first place, (you know, that thing in front clearly ATTACHED to the fridge?) how are you gonna tell us it's NOT part of the fridge? Why even build the d**n icemaker if it's NOT part of the fridge? And WHY not say in the useless service plan (Don't bother installing the water line, cause not only is it not part of the fridge, but if it breaks then, tough $h!t!!) I'll tell you why. Because Best Buy makes all it's profit through those worthless service plans. And if innocent people like us didn't buy them, they'd be assed out and they know it. For all this money we're shelling out the least they could do is hire people who KNOW WHAT THE HELL THEY'RE DOING!!!!! Plenty of people I've talked to, contractor included said that this water pressure excuse is just a way for them to get out of doing the job we PAID them to do!!!! Especially when there is no proof! Flipping on the d**n faucet proves nothing except that this "geek" squad idiot had nothing better to come up with! OH!! But the best part is when we got the mail the day after the last pointless service call. And what did we find? SERVICE PLAN RENEWAL FORMS!!!!!!!!!!!!! That right there was like a big slap in our faces. How could you possibly think that after all this headache, all this wasted time, all this FRUSTRATION....that we would even CONSIDER renewing those plans? Do they really think we're THAT brainless?? Some supervisor had a synapse misfire perhaps? Or possibly someone's playing a very retarded joke? Because that would be the only reason I'd accept for seriously insulting our intelligence. Make no mistake that as we vilify Best Buy far and wide to everyone we know, they will NEVER in this life, see a another red cent of ANY of our money again.

First off, I do understand your frustration in this situation. I would hate to have a puddle in my kitchen, much less deal with it over and over again. However, I would like to point out that if your water pressure is causing the hoses to leak, it isn't covered by Best Buy's Protection Plan. The plan was purchased on the fridge, not your water.
