Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was stunned to see that my interest rate on purchases had been hiked from 12% to 26%. I went overlimit and was late on payments twice, by a day or two. We have been dealing with an elderly inlaw undergoing cancer surgery (at age 83) and have taken extensive time away from home to help out in another state. Because of this, our affairs have indeed gotten a little mixed up. But, I object to 1) being allowed to go overlimit (why do they do me this 'favor'); and 2) being charged 35.00 each time as an overlimit fee, only to have the shockingly usurious slap in the face of more than a 100% increase in my rate. I was literally stunned. I called, and the very polite customer rep told me I could basically do nothing about it. I asked for a supervisor and was told I could appeal, by faxing a letter to a number (but not to a person, of course). If I requested a 'notification of action' I MIGHT even get an answer, but not likely a reversal. This sort of business practice ought to be a crime, and I intend to do anything I can do effect change in this system of permitted exploitation. Thanks alot, GWB and friends.

If any of you haven't figured it out already, credit card companies pretty much ALL work the same wether it be BO Chase etc etc. Wether it's right or not we all know the rules, and we all SHOULD know that the dumbest thing to do is rack up your credit card bill to some ungodly amount, make late payments, overlimit fees, the list goes on and on. GROW UP GET OVER IT AND PAY YOUR d**n BILLS!

A, you've got that great "customer first" attitude that we've all come to know and love at Bank One. I don't doubt for a second that BO jacked up this guy's interest rate after two late payments. From the moment he signed up for what WAS a good card, you bastards were drooling with anticipation for the day when you could rob him blind. Bank One is a terrible company, and you are part of the reason. Check 21 is a great law. It allows the bank to instantly verify that a check is good, rapidly receive the actual funds, and still keep a hold on your check for two weeks. And don't think Bank One doesn't take full advantage of this. I deposited a cashier's check drawn on a local bank into my account at Bank One a few momths ago. They made a VERY small portion available the next day. Four days later, still no more available funds. I called the bank the check was drawn on. They paid out on it the day after my deposit. I had to kindly inform the BO branch manager that he was in violation of three sections of regulation cc before my funds were made available. They would have held them for another week. I'm still pondering whether I want to file suit.

Under the law, you can inform the CC Company you wish to cancel the card.

They will have to allow you to pay the card off at normal minimum payments at the old interest rate. The paperwork to fill out is included with the bill showing the new rate. good luck. You may have to call them to get their attention on this. Save copies of everything in print.

Got a note from bankone letting me know they were raising my interest rate to some ungodly amount. Only problem is the card was paid off several years ago and hasn't been used since. Never late, never over limit, no story to tell. GWB? Dream on. It's the congress and senate. See Check 21.

I can imagine you calling up building your little case "I'm never late", "I've been a customer for years" blah blah blah as I'm sitting at my desk looking at your 550 credit score and a slew of late pays etc! Remember a credit card is an UNSECURED loan. Read your terms and conditions SIR! By the way it doesn't take just a few late pays or overlimit fees to have your interest rate hiked up to almost 30%! Why don't you take the money that is owed from your Bank One card and transfer it if you have such a problem? OH wait, I'm sure that NO other CC company would even consider your application! Best Regaurds, I get paid tons of money being a robot
