I was contacted by Aspire Visa when Nextcard Visa was shut down. When they contacted me I was told that my balance would be transfered with a low or 0% intrest rate for 6 months.
I received a couple of statements and then did not receive another one but knew I owed a balance. I tried contacting them, and after setting on hold for 45 mintutes finally spoke with someone and was told they would send a statement out to me but they would credit the late fee. I said I would like to make a payment by phone right then, but was told there would be a fee. I told them I would not pay the fee, due to not receiving a statement. Asked for management and was put on hold for another 20 mintutes and then superviser came on and all of a sudden I'm disconnected.
I get a phone call a few days later from them saying my payment is late. I told him to read the notes. He said he could take my payment over the phone without being charged. Also told me my late fee would be taken off. I made payment and told him to close the card immediatley.
I receive a statment just now and late charge is on there. I call customer service and sit on hold for 35 mintutes and finally get thru to someone and they say the computer will not let them take the charge off. I say I would like to speak to management and on hold I go again for 10 mintutes to get told that the supervisor would contact me. The lady was about to hang up and I said what # will she be callimg be back at.
I immeditaly hang up and call back again, get the same person after being on hold for 20 mintutes. I told her I was not hanging up and till I talked to supervisor. Finally get one after 10 mintutes and tell her about the late fee, she says she can take of that. I tell her I want to pay my account off in full and I want the interest rate taken off cuz it was suppose to be no interest for 6 months. She gave me three different stories, and I just kept going around and around with her. Finally said heck with it and made the payment by phone in full to pay off the balance which was around $2500.00. And still got charged a fee for making it over the phone. I guess they wanted to get just a little more money out of me. But.....that's OK cuz here I sit letting the world know to never ever get a Aspire Credit Card and if you have one get rid of it ASAP!!!
