American Family Publishers (Thomas Stevens) rip-off! Clearwater Florida
I see a lot of these scams reported where someone called stating that they had won $500000.00 and needed money to be deposited to escrow for taxes. I also received the same call. This scam is one of those 4-1-9 nigerian scams. When I told the man on the phone that my next call would be to secret service, he hung up.
They are scamming thousands of people all over the world especially in the US and Canada. Secret service can't do anything about it or arrest them until the person is actually scammed out of money. What makes me so angry is that they are scamming people out of something more than money, their time, their hopes, emotions. I wish they would show up at my address claiming they have a "cashier's check" (counterfeit by the way) for me.
The name they used with me was Thomas Stevens from American Family Publishers in clear water florida. There is no such company because they were sued so many times and the scam artist knows this and is using their name, bogus name, bogus phone number, bogus address.
Please "DO NOT LET THESE #@$%! STEAL FROM YOU!" Tell them you will not give them any money to fund their heroin or terrorist operations. And when they mention taxes on your winnings, remember, your taxes are between you and Uncle Sam, there's no need for escrow, Uncle Sam knows he will get his taxes! Best Wishes.
