Allied Van Lines ,Reliable Van & Storage, Allied did $4,000 of damage to my husband's motorcycle and refuses to pay for it New York New York
We hired Allied, and used Reliable as the partner, for our move from New York to Los Angeles in February. Upon arrival in Los Angeles, Hector the driver told us that my husband's motorcycle fell over in the van when he had to swerve to avoid a collision on the 101. As the motorcycle is a Ducati that was in perfect condition, this caused several thousand dollars worth of damage as the fairing and windshield were cracked, as well as a few other parts. We asked Hector how we handle this issue and he said to email Tom, our move coordinator, and file a claim which we did.
When I heard back from the adjuster the claim was denied - she said that because we didn't write it down on the inventory, which we were not instructed to do, she couldn't fulfill our claim. Obviously we are very upset and feel totally ripped off. This was $4,000 in damage and we did absolutely everything right to get our claim paid, yet it was denied. I am pretty sure Allied is instructing their personnel to mislead people as to how to report their claims so that they will not have to pay them.
This behavior is unethical bordering on criminal in my view.
