Through GottoRelocate.com I agreed verbally and via e-mail confirmation to have my goods moved from Montana to Massachusetts with a total estimate of 250 cu feet based on a detailed inventory list, total price was $1375.00 for the move including all expenses except packing materials which I was assured wouldn't be more than $300.00.

I placed a deposit of $935.00 the day prior to the agreed move and the next time I communication I recieved was from All Point Trucking claiming my belongings were en route and I must wire $4300.00 immeidiately to their bank account before delivery can be made. I was shocked and refused!

I am being told by David of All Point that the cubic feet was 454 and packing materials totaled $1100. My representative who met the movers in Montana while pick-up was taking place said this is a total farce and scam. Packing materials were minimal and items were placed in boxes twice their size unnecessarily.

I am still in dispute with ALl Point, I refuse to pay the reduced amount they are now offering of $2700 and through my bank I reclaimed my $935 deposit. I have yet to recieve an inventory list of items moved to justify the doubled cubic feet.

My goods are being held in a warehouse in Brooklyn and David calls me daily asking when I will pay and accept delivery. My stomach sinks with the thought I wasn't aware of this invaluable website prior to hiring a moving company for the first time in my life!!

Please forward any advice. I have contacted AG offices in all 3 states as well as DOT, my next move is to call NBC news Palm Beach and local police in Pembroke.

here are some others you might want to contact: Thomas Petri in the United States House of Representatives, is SUPPOSEDLY working on legislation that will stop scam movers. He is supposed to be introducing this legislation very soon. We need to encourage him. Rep. Charles Horan, Director Office of Enforcement and Compliance Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, U.S. Department of Transportation 400 7th Street SW Washington, DC 20590 Telephone: 202-366-2362. The DOT is so understaffed, they're not even able to enforce their own regulations, but you should call anyway and register a complaint.
