I am a full time student and a single mother but when it came to buying a laptop for school I was willing to spend as much as I needed because it is a tool to help me with my future. I went to ABC warehouse because it's where I always went for electronic items. I found the best laptop they had after looking through about six of them. I bought the three year warranty plus plan and I even spent another 400 on accessories, including a wireless printer to go with my laptop. The first problems started immediately. Once I got home the printer was not compatible with the laptop so I had to drive all the way back to return it. This is a 45 minute drive. I had no problems returning that but two days later I started having issues with my laptop. There was a piece broken off of it I noticed upon closer inspection. It was minor and I was willing to deal with it because they didn't have another one like it. Or so they said. The rubber pieces that protect the screen when you close it had also broken off at the same time. I was typing one day and they just fell out. After three weeks the hard drive crashed. After a month and a half the power jack broke. Keep in mind, with ABC I had to deal with the manufacturer warranty first because that's their policy. So technically the three year warranty that I bought was only a two year because they do nothing until that's up. When I sent the laptop in to be repaired they told me that my warranty expires in August. That was only five months after I bought it then. Turned out that either someone owned this before me or it was a display model. I called them to find out and now all of a sudden it's not brand new it was a display and the person that sold it to me claims he told me that. Well, what he told me was that it was brand new. Matter of fact he told me so many times that the issues had to be my fault because it's brand new. His boss, the store manager basically told me that I was a liar when I told him that I was unaware and that if I was I wouldn't have bought a display model. Well, that was just the tip of the iceberg. I've had it sent in another three times since then to be fixed. The battery is junk and won't hold a charge, this is the newest problem. This laptop was just bought in the middle of February 2009. Each time I send it in it's gone for about three weeks and through all that time I have to drive to the library, 15 miles one way, to do my homework. The stuff I listed is just the big stuff. The computer locks me out of it, changes passwords, freezes constantly, and has had about four system recovery and it has had to have the full system restore done twice already. Each time I lose everything. Two of the times I've had it repaired it was due to power issues so I couldn't back anything up. Under the warranty it can be replaced if the problems cannot be fixed. They refuse to replace it and have said that if they do it'll exhaust my warranty. I haven't even used the store's warranty yet, and if it's exhausted then it's like I paid them 200 dollars to give me what I should have gotten in the first place. What I bought in the first place, was a laptop that was supposed to work. A brand new one. Now they want me to pay them for something that I already paid for. This is simply unbelievable that they can get away with this. I've never in my life heard so many bad thing about a store and I've never had something go so wrong like this before. They don't care about their customers, and they don't have any honor or integrity at all!! How can they keep getting away with this kind of service? Why isn't there anything that can be done about this?
