Complaint Review: Westmark Harris REI CAL LIM LIAB COMP - Santa Monica California

I want to state upfront that this property, the method in which it was leased and the manner to which the owners a used and tormented me, disregarded my patience, generosity and loss of property, privacy and months of work will likely scar me for life. found loff on Westside rentals. Had a number of lengtht and details discussions with the owner, Stan Friedman (to this day have never met f2f or spoken with since moving in and he tugged at my heart strings. Seemed like a delightful man. 

Sent in deposit and wanted the place in perfect condition at move in as work out of my home. 

Went in town for Convention and the place was a disaster. Looked like it was taken over by crack heads-appliances were scorched, place was filthy. cabinets missing in kitchen.... Not a window in the "palace" Sid described and pictures portrayed. 

In addition, AC was not working & elaborate sound system (standard with every unit in building) had never been wired-ever.  Funky smell-nitemare. Cement floors were black with toxic mold. 

So I immediately called and wrote a letter. Surely this was an error. That sweet man?  Having already paid $10,000 ($5 rent and $5 deposit) Sid said the previous tenant had trashed the place and they were struggling. (later I find this family is worth billions) but sucker that I am..... I send him another 2 months rent sand give him time to do repairs. Like 60 days. 

Promised that all the issues were repaired...   I moved in. Omg. Omg omg omg. Nothing worked. Someone broke in andhad clothes on the washer, dishwasher destroyed dishes because plumbing had I resolvable blockages, washer ruined clothes made them dirty-again-up resolvable blockag.  AC FROZEN SOLID. NONE of the wiring -NONE was I working condition, black stuff came out of the faucets and showers. It was as bad as it could be. No-it was worse. Because Sid  disappeared and done lazy witch became the prop mgr-meaning her job was to do NOTHING.

SO IM NOT WORKING & REPAIRMEN EVERY DAY. the fridge was sickening with rust and stuff that was sick. dishwasher. Wash machine never fixed. Hired attorney for 1 month to try and resolve their uneilling to make place livable. $12,000 to him and nothing changed except my lack of productivity, increases stress, MUSIC FROM NEIGHBORS SO LOUD MY CEMENT LOFT WALLS TREMBLED.. Zzz and I needed to go to a laundromat to was my clothes. 

The landlord, after all this-rather than repair ANYTHING-ssid he had "deep pockets and highly letigious."

Goody. A complete scumbag torturing young, hardworking entrepreneurs for fun. ;) woohoo :(

did some digging. It's a total scam. 27 tensnts in that unit over last 24 months. hmmmm. And niw they are suing me for?????  Their "chefs kitchen" aka torched crack house- Cooking cat feces and litter onto my dishes????

I guess we will just have to see. But they are quite a set up, indeed.
