They sell dogs under the guise that they are healthy purebred dogs, and that they know what they’re doing because they have been breeding huskies for 25+ yrs. My dog from them looks more of a husky German shepherd mix now that he’s full grown, and he has been diagnosed with ideopathic seizures (now epilepsy) since he was 2 1/2 years old.

I would expect that this is due to the fact that the dogs (parents) they’re breeding are not healthy whatsoever and are most likely not fed a proper diet - and I think its safe to assume this as they will send you home with purina puppy chow (poor choice in food and what they have been feeding them up until the point of adoption) to feed your new puppy until it is eventually weaned off onto whatever food you choose for it. I assume this poor diet causes seizures in the offspring because of a zinc deficiency predisposition due to the parents possibly being fed zinc poor food or otherwise low quality food - this is something that when developed due to unhealthy parents is incurable in your puppy and can only be helped, never stopped.

Testing had found that my dog does have sufficient zinc in his body however it cannot be processed properly in his digestive tract so he still shows signs of zinc deficiency. Another possibility for these seizures is that or one or both of the parents are epileptic themselves. Doesn't help that huskies (and German shepherds for that matter) are predisposed to seizures but buying from awful backyard breeders such as vancouverhusky.com only heightens the chances of this happening.

Do not buy from these guys at all, don’t even consider it. It will only end in heartbreak as this lowers your dogs lifespan and no one likes seeing their dog suffer.. I would never support bybs but I got my dog from an acquaintance who could no longer care for it due to life circumstances and I 100% know they got it from Vancouver husky because I was there with them throughout the entire buying/adoption process. I did let said acquaintance know of my suspicions of this place being a byb but not everyone knows the risks or cares enough to see beyond the price tag.

Also feel I should mention that this place definitely showed all telltale signs of backyard breeding, they don't allow you to see the puppy's parents, they don't allow you to view their living quarters and only bring the available puppies outside to the driveway for you to view. At the time they also only allowed cheque or cash payments, no card or e-transfer.
