Buyers beware!

I found a great deal at Toys R Us where I could buy one 3DS game and get the other for just $1.  At first, I knew something wasn't right, because even stores like Walmart (known for being quite reasonable), didn't have "ANGRY BIRDS" or "BATMAN 2" on special ($29.99 is about the cheapest you can get these games at Walmart for and that's just for one of them, yet the Toys R Us website is offering one for $29.99 and the the other for just a $1 more).

So, I immediately bought it, of course.  However, after I confirmed my order of Angry Birds and Batman 2 (which was showing up nicely in my cart), the Toys R Us system basically came back with, "Sorry, no Batman 2, so we'll be shipping you just Angry Birds at full value."  So basically, without my authorization they revised the order and confirmed the revision (to their profitting advantage).

Their website talks about their ease in cancellation and how you MIGHT find a cancellation button when you call up your order.  However, you won't be able to call up your order, because if you encounter what I did, your screen will say, "Sorry, we don't recognize your order number, please try again..."  When I was able to call it up, under a few hours later, it basically told me my order was being shipped.

Now, their website will give you a number to call in order to cancel orders, but I tried and kept listening to something like this, "We're sorry, we are experiencing a high volume of callers right now..."

I would guess that if you pay through your credit card or bank, their system might not do this to you, because a Toys R Us Corporate Head would have to know there's no profits to be made in "chargebacks".

If you pay through Pay Pal like me, what you will encounter is an inability to dispute the transaction (reason being, Toys R Us, will have a "UNIQUE" transaction ID that creates an error message in Pay Pal, which will basically state, "TRANSACTION ID IS UNIQUE").  I have never seen this before, but it's absolutely true.

So, what do you do?  I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you file a complaint with IC3.gov like I did (it is a division of the FBI devoted to internet fraud).  If this is a random mistake, then nothing will come of this.  But if this has happened to you, then file a complaint with IC3.gov so there will be greater credibility to my report and if we aren't alone, there will be a major investigation.

The RED FLAGS, in short, are as follows : 1) They offer you a too good to be true deal to draw you in, 2) They secure your financial data, 3) They charge you, incorrectly, 4) They make you unable to get ahold of them to correct the charge, 5)  After a month or two, you will be passed the buyer protection time frame and they will be moving on to their next batch of victims.
