I just would like to support the other person who has written in about a tutor named Dr. Tae Hoon Ha in Fresno, CA.  He claims he is a Yale graduate and medical doctor. He is on multiple websites, including Varsity Tutor as well as  Tutor.com. He completed one or two tutoring sessions with us. It went fine, asked for a recommendation or review and then offered us a discount if we paid in bulk sessions. Then, after that, he quickly had many outrageous excuses for not being able to tutor. When asked for money back since obviously he could not fulfill his duties, he became hostile and aggressive with texting, claiming that we were depleting him and affecting his means to support his family.

He quickly turned himself into the victim, stating that he needed to support his family, how could his clients do this to him, etc. etc. I received my money back because my credit card company insured me, but I believe he walked away with several hundreds through a payment agency (he will try to ask that you send him cash instead). He is a scam artist and I do not believe he is in fact Dr. Tae Hoon Ha. He was previously on Thumbtack and I noticed that several people reported similar outcomes, which is probably why he left. I'm saddened that no one has been able to stop him and he continues to scam people for their money. He needs to be stopped. 

The other person who reported her story sounded just like mine. I am sorry to hear about it. No one should have to go through this.

Hi there. I provide refunds when they are due. If I recall, you negged on our contract, which states no refunds on prepurchase packages. I offered my continued services. Providing refunds defeats the purpose of me offering those discounts in the first place. I am sorry about your poor experience with me. Please send me an email if you feel I can do anything else to resolve this better. As with the other client, I am in the process of resolving our situation as we speak. Thank you.
