First of all, they weren't even students who moved me. One was middle aged. Two of the three movers looked like ex-cons and they were so creepy, I was afraid to let them into my house. These were not students! I think they were ex-cons who couldn't get a job with a reputable company.

Now it gets even worse: I am being sued by Starving Students because I still owe them $150 for my move.

But here is why! Starving Students told me up front that it would cost $400 for my entire move, so that day I had $600 cash on me. I was prepared to pay what they told me plus a nice tip, right?

Suddenly, at the end, they told me the final cost was $750. I could only pay them $600. I was lucky I even had that much since they had told me the entire move would only cost me $400.

They said the reason the price went up is because they got my arcade machine stuck in the stairwell for well over an hour and they counted that as time on the clock even though it was their fault.

They needed my teenage son's help to extract the arcade machine from the stairwell and then they still broke a $400 gun on it. Smashed the gun to smithereens.

When Starving Students called to collect their $150, I told them in reality, they owe me for the $400 gun they broke.

Next thing I know, I am sued. So now I have to find $150 or go to jail, I guess.

NEVER USE STARVING STUDENTS TO MOVE. NEVER.

THEY ARE THE WORST.

TELL YOUR FRIENDS WHO MOVE, DON'T USE STARVING STUDENTS.

THEY ARE DISHONEST AND CREEPY.

Names are names

Just because the company is called starving students, it doesnt actually mean it is ran by students. The name was created from a couple of students 36 years ago by students that simply could not find summer work. And as far as the claim of the employees being possible ex cons, backround checks are completed before they are employed. They would have only gave you the rates not a total Quote. Just because you do not have the money to pay your bill doesnt mean you should try and ruin their great reputation

Don't pay the 150.00 and file a counter-claim

Did you get in writing the total cost of the move was 400.00? If you did Starving Students does not have a ground to stand on. Counter-sue for the extra money you paid them and the cost of the machine they broke! Just be sure to show up in court or they will win by default. Many companys win by default because the person doesn't show up. Remember you can win your counter-suit by default if they don't show up also.
