Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I first called the school back in January to schedule a tour to visit the school, the co-owner of the school who was the wife told me that they weren't allowing anybody in because of COVID-19. Then, my grandmother calls the school and her husband who is the main director of the school tells her that theyre allowing people in. Then, the time comes for me to visit the school and they tell me that the tutition is $800, and that it comes with the tool kit.

Throughout the entire "enrollment" process, I was always given a different start date for classes and different prices. My grandmother goes up to the school one day and they tell her that the "full program" for the natural hair class is $14,000 without finacial aid. (The school doesnt have government assistance, so you have to pay out of pocket) so then they claim that the money my grandmother paid was from a promo. She ended up paying $2500, which doesnt come with any supplies or anything from that nature.

A classmate of mine ended up paying only $1200, but they told her $1000 one time. They claim they have different class durations (example: they claim they have a natural hair course program thats 1 year, thats not mentioned on their website.. but they have a 3 month program which is their only program.) When asked why people paid different prices for the same thing, they tell me it's because the school is new and everyone claims to get a promo. They also say that if you paid less than $3000 the money is non refundable. At one point they told me and my mom the program was $4000. I know theyre ripping people off because for one, none of the so called programs at the school are above $3000 so they know they can get away with stealing money from people.

We were given too many different start dates for classes. I was told 1st week of March, then they said March 15th. Then I was told April 15th. Then the start date was pushed back to May 4th/5th. They failed to tell us a lot of information about stuff and they tell us last minute or I have to contact them first about information. Sometimes during "class" they would start way too late, if not at all. I sometimes sat on zoom waiting for nearly 2-5 hours at a time. We would have too many "breaks" and during lessons he would not talk about hair and we learned nothing.

They failed to tell us that classes would be on Zoom for the entire month. They also failed to tell other students that in the other programs they would not have any instructors. For example, someone in the esthetics class never had an instructor for the entire month. They lied and always claimed that a new instructor would be coming in every week. My "instructor" was basically just the owner of the school, and theres never any other people at that school except the scamming family. The last week of May comes around and he tells us that we're done with classes on Zoom and we're not doing anything until practicals and practicals doesnt begin until June 15th and that was the last straw for me.

I go up to the school one last time on June 2nd and i tell them that i want to unenroll and i would like my grandmother to have a refund. They give me a hard time and basically try to agrue with me about the money and the different prices for the same program. He (the manager) also basically acts like by me leaving that I'm going to fail in life and that i won't be sucessful if i dont stay at the school and he basically gets mad at me for wanting to leave. He was unprofessional the entire time I've been to the school and he acts like people around me have been influencing me to leave and he acted like a high schooler. I wanted to fill out the withdrawal papers to leave and they tell me i dont have to fill out any paperworks, so i go into my mom's car and i leave.

I also found out the owners of that school had 2 different schools before this one. They had their first school shut down because of them scamming people for their money and they've also been in trouble by the government by overcharging military families at their school and they also mishandled money. They're just now getting out of trouble and getting their license back.

TLDR: Too many inconsistent class start dates, too many different prices for the same class, no instructors, failed to tell us information and unprofessionalism. Classes were nothing but a waste of time and no flexible class dates. My grandma never has gotten her $2500 back and who knows who else has never gotten their money back.
