I don't think you realize what the definition of bait and switch is. As the consumer, it is your responsibilty to do your research on the product to see if it satisfies your requirements for that product. You even stated yourself that once you did some research, it did indeed say that it didn't come with a battery. At that price, it probably wouldn't come with a battery. Of course the ad isn't going to mention it doesn't come with batteries. The sale ads don't cover everything that's on sale, just enough to get people's attention, and they're not going to waste space on information like that. But again, it is your responsibility as the consumer to do your research. It's like buying a CD player thinking it comes with batteries, and then upon opening the package, being angry it doesn't come with batteries, when it says it doesn't on the package. Sears may be guilty of many things, but bait and switch isn't one of them. They work very hard to prevent this.
