On July 6th of this year, my wife and I were stopped in the mall by a Sears home improvment worker talking about making sure “home windows” were not causing unnecessary energy loss. We mentioned to her we needed a new patio sliding door and asked what it cost. She said ruffly around $400 to $600.00 We thought that would be in our budget so told her we would let someone come to our home and give a more accurate estimate.

Sears guys came out to the house the following Tuesday. We did not get a business card or name of these men. Just stated they were from Sears Home Improvement.They where here for about 2 hours. After all was said and done they quoted the patio door at 3k. We were, needless to say, kind of shocked. We are a young couple with our first home and obviously not well versed on dealing with installers or contractors. We felt like if that is the lowest price we can get we would have to work something out. Always have had great faith in Sears name.

After my wife signed the contract one of the sales persons did a fist bump to the other sales person. I couldn't believe what I just saw.

I actually begin to wonder if maybe we had acted very rash but still wanted to give Sears the benefit of the doubt.

Well my wife and I had some questions about the contract and the estimate. We immediately contacted Sears 800 number that I got from the internet. NO ONE contacted us back. We left several messages and after no reply we decided to cancel.  We send a letter via fax complaining about the customer service.

A man named William Emhoolah called my wife yelling at her and made her cry. So I called his boss told him how upset I was.  We told him we would think about it. Well after a day we decided not to go with Sears after the way we had been treated. We called and left a message for  Mike Lambert

Well it's been about 2 1/2 weeks now, and left about half a dozen message. No one has called us back and my wife’s credit card is still being charged $7,000.00.

The local Sears installation department does show it's been canceled but no credit has been issued.

We have called every number we can possibly think of and we get nothing.   We want to use this credit card to purchase windows else where and this is ridiculous. The Sears people in the Oklahoma area are crooked.  We didn't even have the product installed into our home and are being charged for it and a payment will soon come due. We are at our “wits ends.” I feel  I would advise anyone to stay clear of Sears they can't even return a phone call once they get your money they don't care.

I apologize in advance for sounding off... but ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Would appreciate someone taking care of this matter immediately.
