IN AUGUST, I FINALLY GOT SOME MONEY FROM A DISABILITY CLAIM AND WENT LOOKING FOR A CAR. WE STOPPED AT REGGIE'S AT 4140 S BOULDER HWY LAS VEGAS, NV 89121 AND LOOKED AT A FEW VEHICLES BUT WERE NOT INTERESTED. THE SALESMAN PRACTICALLY BEGGED US TO LET HIM EARN OUR BUSINESS AND THEY WOULD DO ANYTHING WE WANTED TO ANY OF THE VEHICLES TO DO SO. WE WILL GIVE ANYONE WHO IS HONEST A CHANCE TO EARN OUR BUSINESS, SO WE SAID OKAY, AS LONG AS WE GET A RELIABLE VEHICLE SINCE I AM ON DISABILITY AND HAVE 4 CHILDREN, ONE BEING A NEWBORN. THEY PROMISED US TOTAL SATISFACTION. THE PURCHASE WAS MADE ON AUGUST 19,1999 AND ON SEPTEMBER 25,1999 THE BATTERY BLEW UP WHEN I STARTED THE VAN (A 1989 MAZDA MPV) AND THEN THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT ON IT. I CALLED THE GENERAL MANAGER, MIKE HUGHES AND HE SENT A TOW TRUCK OVER TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THEIR SHOP AT WORK IT MOTORS. THEY CALLED ME BACK TELLING ME TO PAY $750.00 FOR THE TRANSMISSION, OF WHICH I REFUSED AND TOLD THEM THAT THEY SHOULD PAY FOR IT SINCE THEY PROMISED ME A RELIABLE VEHICLE. THEY REFUSED. I CALLED MY LAWYER, WHO SENT THEM A DEMAND LETTER TO FIX THE TRANNY, AND THEY WROTE BACK STATING THAT THEY WOULD STAND BEHIND THEIR WARRANTY (CONSUMER PAYS COST FOR PARTS AND $20.00 HOUR LABOR) IF WE AGREED WITH THE BUYERS GUIDE. OF COURSE WE NEVER SAW ANY BUYERS GUIDE. SO I SENT THEM A CERTIFIED LETTER STATING THAT WE WANTED COMPLETELY OUT OF THE LOAN, THAT WE WOULD SUE THEM FOR THE ENTIRE AMOUNT OF THE LOAN PLUS DAMAGES, I WOULD CONTACT ALL LOCAL NEWS AGENCIES WITH THE STORY, FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NEVADA CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE RIP OFF REPORT ON THE INTERNET. I RECEIVED A PHONE CALL A WEEK LATER FROM MIKE HUGHES STATING THAT HE GOT MY LETTER AND DISCUSSED IT WITH THE OWNER, AND HE DECIDED THAT HE WAS GOING TO FIX MY TRANSMISSION BECAUSE HE WANTED US TO BE HAPPY. THAT WAS ON OCTOBER 25,1999 AND SINCE THEN THE FINANCE COMPANY HAS BEEN CALLING FOR THEIR PAYMENT, AND THEY DIDN'T KNOW I DIDN'T HAVE THE VEHICLE FOR ALMOST TWO MONTHS. THEY CALLED MIKE HUGHES YESTERDAY, NOV.11,1999 AND HE TOLD THEM THE VAN SHOULD BE READY BY TODAY, NOV.12,1999 AND WHEN I CALLED THE SHOP TO FIND OUT WHEN TODAY IT WOULD BE READY, THE GUY TOLD ME THEY JUST PICKED IT UP YESTERDAY AND IT WOULD NOT BE READY UNTIL MONDAY. THIS GUY HAS TOTALLY LIED THE ENTIRE TIME TO US, HE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT HOW HE HAS STUCK US WITH A PIECE OF CRAP OR TOTALLY TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF US AND NOW IS REFUSING TO FIX THE THINGS WRONG WITH THE VAN THAT WERE ORIGINALLY AGREED UPON. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT WE HAVEN'T HAD THE VAN FOR ALMOST TWO MONTHS AND WE ARE NOW BEHIND ON OUR PAYMENTS, AND HE IS REFUSING TO PAY US CURRENT WITH OUR CREDITOR SINCE IT IS HIS FAULT WE ARE SO FAR BEHIND. DON'T EVER BUY A CAR OR TRUCK OR VAN FROM THESE GUYS, ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS GETTING MONEY FROM YOU. THEY LIE THROUGH THEIR TEETH TO GET A SALE AND WOULD SELL A TIME BOMB LIKE THEY DID US TO ANYONE WITHOUT CONSCIENCE.
