Used my Capital One Mastercard to pay for my $11 of groceries and was APPROVED. Waited for about 5 minutes as the cashier did NOT give me my receipt and REFUSED to bag my groceries as is their SOP.
Finally she turned to me when I asked for help and said, "ELEVEN DOLLARS PLEASE." That's why I didn't bag your groceries.
Furiious I told her that I'd already paid the full amount by my credit card and was APPROVED.
NO appoligies. NO bagging of groceries. Again asked for $11.
Went to the other part of the store and repeatedly asked a different employee ofr the Manager saying I was being RiPPED OFF. E
REPEATED requests for the NOT busy employee, then she finally claimed she was the manager.
I explained that I was being RiPPED OFF having already paid the full amount of $11 for my groceries and that the employee was helping the very NEXT customer instead of bagging my groceries as is SOP and I had politiely requested.
Bottom Line, employee refused repeated requests for her name. Claimed that the $11 payment request was for the NEXT customer whom she hadn't even yet rung up, and was buying WAY MORE than $11 of groceries.
Manager FINALLY gave me her name as Lily, pointing to her name tag. I am a VISUALLY DISABLED SENIOR CITIZEN of 68 years and could not read her name tag.
NO apologies wefre given at all.
REPEATED LIES of why I was asked for "eleven dollars" when my credit card payment had already been approved.
NO explanation of why she'd turned to help the next customer, NOT given me my receipt, NOT given me my groceries in the bags which were right there.
I've spent over 1 hour trying to track down the corporate phone number as it is WRONG if you Google it.
Numerous transfers, waits on hold, disconnected, only to be given a phone number where you can NOT leave a message at all.
FURIOUS at the attempt to RIP ME OFF.

Cashier REFUSED to give me the original credit card receipt until I got the manager to come over to me. Capital One Credit Card stated APPROVED transaction, same thing as the machine already stated.
NO glitch. NO mistake on my credit card at all.
Cashiers at 99 Ranch Market have previously been FIRED for stealing very small amounts of customers $$$. Know this to be a fact from a friend who used to be a cashier at the same grocery store.
Again my complaint is that I NEVER received any form of an apology. Only LAME excuses re why the cashier DEMANDED MORE $$$ from me for NO valid reason.
Manager REFUSED to do anything beyond finally giving me my PAID FOR groceries and the receipt as I had repeatedly asked.
99 Ranch Market tried to SCAM me

So you are saying you put in your card, the machine said "approved", and the cash register printed the receipt? What did the cashier do, take it and put it in her pocket? Or you didn't actually see what the machine said because you are visually impaired enough that you can't read a name tag, and you just ASSUMED it went through? Even if the machine said "approved" on the screen doesn't mean anything, there could have been a glitch with the communication between the card reader and the register.
The scenario you describe makes absolutely no sense. Here's what I think actually happened. The register glitched out. The cashier perhaps told you that your card didn't go through and to swipe it again. You refused to do it, and instead started creating a scene and accusing her of stealing. The manager saw you creating a scene and told you to leave. I'm sure at that point you were just acting batshit insane, so nobody could figure out what was wrong. Eventually, when they figured out what actually happened, they were able to fix the problem with the register and finalize the transaction.
Also, guess what, Einstein: if you steal money from the register, the balance at the end of the day won't match and the cashier will have to either pay it back or be fired. Next time, try being nice instead of being a jackass and making nonsensical accusations.

I've shopped every week for a few years always using the same identical Capital One credit card. Machine makes a noise if you don't put the card in correctly or if there's another tech error.
"Approved" was very clearly shown on the machine and by the receipt which I eventually was given after repeatedly asking for it.
If the cashier had been well trained and polite, then she could have asked me.
REPEATEDLY she AGGRESSIVELY DEMANDED I pay her in CASH for $11. I do NOT carry cash and always use the same Capital One credit card as there's NEVER been a problem, and my balance is almost always "0."
Previous poster did NOT carefully read my complaint.
Also I used to know a cashier who worked at that location and there were reports of other cashiers stealing small amounts of money when shoppers paid in cash.

Do you really think the cashier wanted to rip you off for $11, none of which she would even see? My guess is either your credit card didn't go through, or their system glitched out. They probably didn't give you a receipt because the transaction didn't actually happen and therefore one was not printed. I'm not even clear from your explanation if the credit card charge even posted, or it was just an authorization (which disappears after a few days). In any case, the cashier can't give you the groceries until the purchase actually goes through and a receipt is printed. The easiest way to resolve this would have been to pay for the groceries with your card a second time, and then contact Capital One to remove the duplicate transaction, if it had actually posted. But like I said, my guess is it was just an authorization. You wouldn't know it in any case, charges take up to a week to actually post.
