I hired this Pure Moving & Storage Corp and after the mover they assigned to me ripped me off and stole my money I call for them to help and they never even cared to answer to my calls or emails.   They collected 530.00 to coordinate my move and sent fraudulent movers and when  it was time to answer to my complaint in regards to the fraudulent company they sent. They never answered my calls or emails they shut me down completely.

THEY GAVE MY MOVE TO THEIR MOVING COMPANY OCEAN MOVERS AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY HAVE HIDDEN FROM ME TO AVOID FACING THEIR RESPONSABILITY EVER SINCE.

I made a 530 dollar deposit payment after I  was "ESTIMATED" based on a full detailed written inventory. I went over the charges several times and when i was picked up  my move went up from $1530.00 to $2390.00!!!!!! Yes $2390.00 almost  double what he "Quoted" when I said I could not pay that they told me that it's okay they would leave but I would LOSE my deposit because they came to pick up and I refused service. I was in no place to lose my money so I had to allow them to take advantage of me and they also demanded a 75 dollar tip and the man called me cheap and miserable because I was only giving a 40 dollars demanded tip I just didn't have more.  I threatened them to report them with several agencies and the broker who referred them to me and they gave back $40 of the 75 demanded tip .

When they arrived at the delivery location they charged me $450 extra to rent a truck because supposedly their large truck would not be able to fit in that street. I had to pay it because they  threatened me to leave stuff in the streets. I had to pay it and guess in what truck they showed up? Yes in the same 18 wheeler that wasn't going to fit and at the top of that they told me at the beginning they were waving an additional 75 for elevator and I just didn't have it at the money and they left all my belongings in the middle of the street in the sidewalk of my building. They never delivered it I had to hire two people to help costing and additional 350 to bring the brand new furniture upstairs. They never delivered, assembled,or  finished the delivery.

Two 1800.00 speakers arrived broken and they never answered one call after delivery as they have of course call id and decided never to pick up the calls.  They ruined my mattress , my 2000 dollar speakers, and a table. (STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS.  I was unemployed at the time and the driver told me that I was probably unemployed because of how cheap I was crying for money.  Be Careful Please IN their reap off unethical practices and the additional movers I had to pay to bring up  my furniture that they so horribly left in  the street , keep in mind that  all of those extras were paid.  I am a single mom and unemployed at the time, maybe that's why they acted in such a predatory manner.  This company put me in a bad hole financially  and broke my most expensive valuables and never even cared to answer emails or pick up the phone to help. But always acted disgusted to deal with me after they secured my initial deposit payment. Customer service never got back to me at all.

Please also see the current Government Action They are undergoing for been such a thieves

Government Action

The following describes a pending government action that has been formally brought by a government agency but has not yet been resolved. We are providing a summary of the government's allegations, which have not yet been proven.

As of December 28, 2018, The Office of Attorney General, State of Florida, Dept. of Legal Affairs, filed a complaint in federal court alleging violations of the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, as well as both federal and state moving statutes, against the following business and individual:

Ocean Moving & Storage Corp., located in Pembroke Pines, and principal Itai Carmel.

Allegations against the company include deceptive marketing and sales of household moving services, while holding consumers' goods hostage for ransom in Florida and other states. Many of the victims are senior citizens.

The moving company, located in Broward county, allegedly used false or deceptive advertising to induce consumers to purchase moving services. The company proclaimed that the services were to be performed by highly trained, professional or expert movers. However, untrained laborers regularly performed the moves, often causing damage to, destroying or stealing the consumers' property.

Many consumers allegedly received low-price, purportedly binding estimates from the company. In numerous instances, once the moving service began and the household goods were at least partially loaded onto moving trucks, the defendant substantially increased the prices. If consumers refused to pay the new higher amount, the complaint alleges that the defendant threatened to hold the consumers' goods hostage for ransom and add fees to the demanded amount until the consumers paid the higher fee.

This complaint is part of an ongoing Florida Attorney General's Office initiative with the U.S. Department of Transportation called Operation Moving Target. The complaint seeks a permanent injunction, consumer restitution and civil penalties from the moving company and principal(s).

Anyone suspecting deceptive or unfair business practices can file a complaint with the Attorney General's Office online at MyFloridaLegal.com or via phone at 1(866) 9NO-SCAM.

That I look for cheap prices etc etc etc if my business to provide the service at the price you agreed on in yours. If you couldnt make it at a price you should not have agreed to it. My 2000 dollar speakers got broken did you do that as a retaliation because you gave a cheap price?

Your treatment , and the way you are choosing to represent the company is speaking loudly about you and by handeling things in this way you are hurting yoru reputation even more.

Be ethical, be decent, practice good business ethics and be professional and then you wont have to deal with this type of complaints that obviously are all over the internet for a reason that speaks as loud as the poor way you are managing this formal complaint.

In the other Hand Ocen Moving seems to be trying to fix things and I will update at the end of our remedy negotiation.

Do yourself a favor and the company that you represent and take some management and customer service as well as bsuiness representation classes because as far as everyone will see. This is a very poor and unprofessional way to hanle your clients. If you hate your clients get out of this business

No, I Was Telling You That You're an Idiot

You start off by hiring a broker.  If you had done any research on moving, then you would know never to hire a broker to do anything.  You basically paid them $530 to do something you should have done yourself.  On top of it, they gave you a mover that you had no ability to do any research on prior to your move.

Once the broker found you a mover, then their responsibility ends.  Quick way to make $530.  I mean you don't even understand the relationship between the broker and the mover.  This makes you an idiot.  These companies exist (broker and mover) because of people like you - period.

None of the allegations the government can make would apply to your move.  You were not hostage loaded, per your own admission.  They showed up and since you didn't have a written contract between you and the mover (only the broker), then nothing you received upfront from anyone meant anything.  You didn't receive a binding estimate because, of course, the mover didn't see your belongings prior to the move - therefore there was no binding quote and no deception.

You didn't get a written contract for the final price until the day of the move - which is perfectly legal.  They said they would leave if you didn't agree to the price increase, right?  So how could there be a hostage load if you had the opportunity to refuse the service?  This is why your case wouldn't apply to the allegations.

Generally, and I've seen this happen a lot, the government can't really prove any of the allegations and it becomes too expensive to prosecute the mover.  So in exchange for dropping the case, the mover hands over some money in the form of a fine.  Much like a bribe to the government.  The mover continues doing business.  This has nothing to do with me, so don't try to shift your own blame for this to anyone.

Here is another reality to consider you clearly have no idea about:

Professional moving is expensive - there is nothing automated about the process.  It requires a consumer to actually meet the mover PRIOR to the day of the move to go over everything, just as if you were hiring a contractor to fix something in your house.  It means having the mover getting to know you and you getting to know about the moving process.  Did any of them do that in person with you?  No, how could they.

You don't indicate where you moved from or to, but if you didn't live in Florida, then why choose a mover that is located there??  If the website you went to find these clowns, lists virtually every single mover on their website as located in Florida, then there is a reason for that.  It's because Florida is where the worst movers are located and the website you went to is where these movers hang out.

All of what happened to you was perfectly legal under both State and Federal Law.  It's unfortunate for you that this happened, but this is what happens when you don't bother to do any research regarding a move.

Al allegations are correct and to the T.   There are no false allegations , there are not crurazy people here making these allegations for you. People will not engage into ruining reputation of companies like yours. YOU and your poor customer service, the lack of answering phones after problems are reported and your lack of interest in resolving issues after you get your deposit is the big Issue here.

If you think consumers and your customers are stupid enough to take this as an excuse for your shortcomings thats your way of doing business. With this the only thing you achieve is people thinking you are just a educated thieve but you were responsible for my damages and you failed to answer and YOU refered and gave my load to a vendor of yours YOU are responsible for the vendors you give your customers laods to. You never even offer a solution, You are only defending yourself.

Try been less defensive as people already knows you will not admit responsibility.  Try showing people you care by offering solutions . You yourseld should not even be answering these allegations because you were not there first of all to see what took place and you decice to attack back in stead of showing your new customers remourse and solutions. Thats the reason whay you are here.

You are making the company look even worse than they did just with my allegations alone. Bad choice of representation and judgement.

Sorry but I hope this helps people see the real policy here for the company, Take money but not responsibility and when stuff hits the fan hide and defend but never mention or show the decency to resolve.

NOTE THIS PEOPLE AND I WILL NEVER USE YOUR SERVICES AGAIN AND IT IS MY OPINION AFTER MY 2000 DOLLAR APEAKERS GOT BROKEN AMONG OTHER LOSES AND THEY NEVER RESPONDED TO MY EMAILS OR CALLS ONLY TO THIS REPORT.

THAT ALONE GIVES YOU THE ANSWER TO IF YOU SHOULD HIRE THEM OR NOT!

Lots of Incorrect Information - Both By You AND the Government

I hired this Pure Moving & Storage Corp and after the mover they assigned to me ripped me off and stole my money I call for them to help and they never even cared to answer to my calls or emails.  So what you did was hire a broker to find a mover for you. There is ZERO reason for any consumer to hire a broker.  Let's also understand this:  For $530, they found you a mover.  That was their only responsibility for them to do for that money.  Once they found you a mover, then their responsibility ends.  They have no obligation to answer any of your e-mails - ever.  Now you understand why hiring a broker is dumb.

THEY GAVE MY MOVE TO THEIR MOVING COMPANY OCEAN MOVERS AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENED AND THEY HAVE HIDDEN FROM ME TO AVOID FACING THEIR RESPONSABILITY EVER SINCE.  Ocean Movers has no affiliation with the broker.  They simply responded to the broker, said they were available, and they were then assigned your move.  At a time when you should have been in control to select your own mover, you decided not to take that control.

I made a 530 dollar deposit payment after I  was "ESTIMATED" based on a full detailed written inventory. I went over the charges several times and when i was picked up  my move went up from $1530.00 to $2390.00!!!!!!  Unfortunately for you, estimates over the phone are not binding.  A binding quote can only be binding when the mover sees everything needing to be moved.  A written list would not constitute witnessing what needs to be moved, because - of course - the mover will likely say that you missed items on your written inventory (that's why the estimate is not binding).  Oh, and I should say that the $530 deposit you paid went to the broker - you really didn't pay the mover anything.

When they arrived at the delivery location they charged me $450 extra to rent a truck because supposedly their large truck would not be able to fit in that street.  Yes that's true - a mover can certainly charge for a shuttle if their truck cannot get into the destination area.  That is also not illegal and is a part of your contract.  However, if they were able to get a truck into the area, then you should have been able to get a refund on the shuttle.

What happened to you had nothing to you with you being unemployed, or being cheap.  You hired a broker to find you a mover.  Brokers will generally find movers who are of such low quality that they cannot obtain work through other means.  By using a broker, you gave up your ability to perform due diligence on your mover as well.  You wanted a full service mover.  I can tell you for $2,390, you did not pay for a full service mover.  Full service moving is incredibly expensive.

Now, let's go over the lies of the government:

Allegations against the company include deceptive marketing and sales of household moving services, while holding consumers' goods hostage for ransom in Florida and other states.  Holding goods for ransom is illegal, but htis did not happen to you.  Here is what holding goods hostage under the law means:

If a price was quoted to you and a contract signed at the origin point.  Once the goods are in the truck and the truck drives away, if the mover then increases the price substantially and you cannot get your items until you pay the balance, then that is a hostage load.  This did not happen to you.  Before the truck was completely loaded, the quote was increased and you signed the contract.  Otherwise, they could leave.  You clearly described a situation in which a hostage load did not occur.

The company proclaimed that the services were to be performed by highly trained, professional or expert movers. However, untrained laborers regularly performed the moves, often causing damage to, destroying or stealing the consumers' property.  It doesn't take much to train a mover to move furniture.  Sorry, but if a mover used personnel even once in a move, then they would be a trained mover.  The allegation is so vague as to constitute nothing.

Many consumers allegedly received low-price, purportedly binding estimates from the company.  All a mover has to do is figure out something was missed in the inventory list provided to the mover.  If it was, the quote is no longer binding.  How could it ever be binding if something was potentially added?  Could it have been binding?  Maybe.  But that's not how these guys play because under the law, a binding quote can be evaded if something in the initial quote changes.

If consumers refused to pay the new higher amount, the complaint alleges that the defendant threatened to hold the consumers' goods hostage for ransom and add fees to the demanded amount until the consumers paid the higher fee.  I've already described what a hostage load is.  This description they use does not constitute a hostage load under the law, and that didn't happen to you.  Movers like this know the game very well and they know not to perform a hostage load.  It's unlikely this mover will be found performing hostage loads.

Morale of the story:  Moving is not inexpensive.  It is labor intensive and no automation can really be implemented to make the cost lower.  Moving companies are really for people who can afford to pay for the service.  If you can't afford the service, then there is U-Haul, there are U-Pack We-Ship companies, and other alternatives.  Never use a broker for anything related to a move - they were the real criminals in all of this - much more so than the mover.  You just didn't realize it.

Finally:

1.  Do some research before you do an interstate move.  The best site I can recommend is either the AMSA or movingscam.com.  They will tell you what you should do when you move and what to expect.

2.  Stay off the internet when finding a mover.  Select 3 movers LOCAL to you.  Don't pick a mover in Florida unless you actually happen to be in Florida.

3.  Invite the local movers to your house to see what needs to be moved.  They will give you a binding estimate because, of course, they've seen everything needing to be moved BEFORE the move.  If a mover cannot come to your home, then eliminate them from consideration and tell them so.  They will either come, or decide you actually know what's going on.

4.  If the quotes for these moves are more than your budget, DON'T go on the internet looking for a cheap move.  I promise it won't end well for you...
