I have read a number of the posts on this site and feel obligated to share helpful information with people who have expressed so many complaints about Primerica. First of all, you are reading widespread complaints about this company because Primerica has compliance problems that begin and end with its top executive leadership--Co CEOs John Addison and Rick Williams.

This is not speculation. I know because I was a representative with the company when the previous CEO Joe Plumeri was there and everyone in Primerica knew that Mr. Plumeri was serious about compliance and would terminate the business agreements of anyone caught violating the rules regardless of the production or earnings of top producers.

The mere fact that there are so many complaints on this site is a serious indication of compliance problems. Primerica does have a compliance department, but the people that work there are Primerica employees and do whatever to protect the best interests of "Primerica." Meaning that there only function is to cover-up wrong doing and control the representatives (thereby controlling the outcomes of a bad situation).

What Primerica does for the consumer is "noble" in cause. I still believe in the FNA concepts that they share because, if applied they work. Most of the people who join Primerica are good people who really want to help others. However, there are some bad people who think they are above the rules and have given the company a bad reputation.

Primerica reps only use (for-profit) magazine sources for their references and do not do their own extensive homework on their own company because they are so busy trying to win incentive trips and make money for awards and recognition. Plus the RVPS, SVPS, NSDS, SNSDS (OSJs) who are earning six and seven figure incomes are not going to upset the applecart by correcting unscrupulous reps or corrupt senior executives at their corporate office because that would jeopardize their "bread and butter."

If you have experienced any unethical conduct or deceptive recruitng practices by a Primerica representative, you CAN do something about it:

(1) File by phone an anonymous complaint 24 hours a day, seven days a week with: Citigroup Ethics Office

(866) 384-4299

You may also fax your complaint to (212) 793-1347 or you may send it by mail to P.O. Box 729 New York, NY 10013

(2) Register with the National Do Not Call Registry toll-free at (888) 382-1222 or online at donotcall.gov

If you want to stop the deceptive recruitment calls or make sure Primerica complies with rules and regulations, please remember to do both #1 and #2. Best of Luck!

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

I'm going through Jim's posting with some editing to make it more complete and truthful: "99% of the [legitimate] complaints are from former reps [over 100,000 quit every year who got fed up with the lies and deception of Crimerica along with the paltry income]." "If it were not for the hard work of the compliance department, the company may have been shut down 29 years ago [remember Milico in NYS?]." "But, they don't cover up anything! [just ignore all the negative reports on Ripoff Report and other websites.]" "And, every company has their bad apples. [i.e. the fat cats at Crimerica]." "Citigroup is the largest [crookedest) company in the world [remember Enron, Worldcom and those big fines by the US government for predatory lending by Citigroup]." "Do you honestly believe a company this size and magnitude would take a chance on a bad company??? [no chance at all since both companies are rotten to the core]." Just another hohum report by a shiller for Crimerica (apparently the fat cats realized that Gary from Wichita was an embarassment so they've sent this turkey over). Hey Jim I've a message for you. Pay attention: "Victim of a consumer Rip-off? Want justice? Rip-off Report is a worldwide consumer reporting Website & Publication, by consumers, for consumers, to file & document complaints about companies or individuals who ripoff consumers." So Jim what have you been doing for the victims?

I love how every Crimerica defender claims that the people complaining on this site about an unethical and dishonest company are "Not coachable" or didn't follow their "leader's instructions." I suppose Jim is probably right. These people didn't follow the instructions they were given, such as "call people and misrepresent yourself as an employer looking for 'management trainees' in our regional expansion." Yeah, we never hear that one here do we? Jim is probably also right that these people didn't follow instructions to sell bad products to their family and friends, and then give the commision to some "RVP" who didn't do a thing. Jim is also probably right that the people here complaining didn't do the "rah rah" sales pitch that is designed to suck more people into this disgraceful operation. So Jim, you are correct. The complaintants were not coachable (meaning they weren't brainwashable), didn't follow instructions, and are now here. I suspect that most of them are okay with that.

<> Every financial service company has compliance issues as well as does any company. Microsoft is a company anyone would like to work for and has compliance and legal issues all the time. Even God has compliance issues inside the United States. This is a normal attempt to slander a company and should not be taken lightly. John Addison and Rick Williams have taken the company from the brink of destruction to it's old stature and size of the A.L. Williams days. <> Joe almost destroyed the company in his exuberance. But, to say Primerica has laxed its compliance is completely false. <> 99% of the so-called complaints are from disgruntled former reps. that refused to follow their leader's instructions and agents from other insurance companies, which I'm sure that includes you. <> What in the world do you think a compliance department is for? LOL! Of course it is to protect the company. If it were not for the hard work of the compliance department, the company may have been shut down 29 years ago. But, they don't cover up anything! All accounts are recorded including with the Regional Vice Presidents office records. What nonsense! <> And, you would be one of them. You are in here giving the company a bad reputation with your true lack of knowledge about Primerica. If you really liked the FNA, you would still be here making the company a better company, if that is your real motive. I suspect it isn't. And, every company has their bad apples. In our company, most of them just quit, like you. Other companies, they get fired. So what? <> This just shows me that you were not really with the company long. Forbes Magazine isn't one that Primerica advertizes in. And, we have used consumer report magazine and other in the past. What the heck is a "for profit" magazine anyway? Stupid. <> What on earth are you babbling about now? Do you know any sales company that doesn't have incentive contests? Most companies have award dinners with incentives. You agents of other companies are really grasping for straws now. Just because we take business away from you. <> LOL! Citigroup is Primerica's parent company. Citigroup is the largest company in the world and continuousely number 1 on the forbes Super 50 list of largest companies. Do you honestly believe a company this size and magnitude would take a chance on a bad company??? Please share with everyone that you either are an agent for another insurance company or you are just disgruntled because you were unable to reach your goal in Primerica due to lack of teachability and coachability.
