The employee asked me for my phone number and I said it is unlisted, he said if I did not give him my phone number I could not order! I gave him a fictitious number and name since I had never been at this location before. It has deterred me from going to Pizza Hut here-on-out, if I, as a customer are standing there waiting for an order, why should I have to give personal information? I understand if I called it in however this was not the case. Very poor customer service.

I was recently at a Pizza Hut in Salem, VA - I went to get an order to go while I waited for it. The employee asked me for my phone number and I said it is unlisted, he said if I did not give him my phone number I could not order! Not sure why my origional report isnt showing up for updating, so filing this as a rebutal. I have not bought from Pizzahut since my last report till most recently. And this was because I let my kids do the ordering. Luckily this was done online because I'm sure most parrents who give their kids permission to order a pizza and get a bunch of things you yourself would not order, would most likely blame the kids for taking advantage. Heck, I almost did but decided to check the email to see what exactly wa ordered. As it turns out, I'm glad I checked, because this huge order that came to my door was no accident, like getting someone elses order.

This was done deleberate by pizzahut who not only changed the origional order, but also charged for additional items not even asked for. So yes, I gave them a call, and their responce which I recorded was "Were sorry, we will give you a credit towards your next order. We do not give refunds." This is actually credit card fraud. Most banks will do a chargeback. Mine would, but heck, after looking back to every order they did similar too, then realizing I'm in the state of california and anything my kids got ripped off on has a statute of limitations several years past the age of 18, decied to show up at their office today with a small claims subpoena. I'm actually bringing two. One to serve, and a special one to post on their window which they can be arrested for removing until the court date.

In case your new to my articles, I'll explain a bit how CA small claims works here. It is cattered to the small person like us to give a chance against the biggest companies. I'm sure many are thinking, small claims court? Won't thier big time attorneys shred you to pieces? I'm experienced with court, been so since I was 16 so even if I went up against their big time lawyers, many still lost, but with CA small claims, this isnt the case. You don't have to worry about attorneys getting the upper hand because they are not allowed to represent anyone in CA small claims. Which means the plaintiff and defendant get to fight it out in court on even ground. Turn around for small claims is pretty fast too. None of that continuation stuff that drags a case on for years. Most judges will not grant one, and if they do, its just one and thats it.

I won most of my cases. The important thing is to show evidence. Make it short. Show pictures, show reciepts, show the fraud. Most of the time the company tries to settle before it goes to court. Best thing to do, is fill out the forms, and either mail or email them to the company you plant to take to court with a letter that states these are small claims court papers, read them and decide whether or not you want to continue this in court. I'm sending them prior to being filed to save you and me money. If you ignore this, or still want to continue this in court, once I pay the fees, the cost of settlement will go up and give a realisitc amount. A company seeing a court paper prior to being filed showing $70,000,000 theyll toss out, knowing you have no intention because small claims court is under $7,000.00. This works most of the time.

Extra Charge Scam Exposed.

#3Consumer Suggestion

Sat, September 03, 2016

Was talking to some friends the day I did the above report and one of the things we talked about was besides the extra fees for delievery, why is it no matter what you order, there is always an extra item fee. So we ran a test and suprisignly or not so suprisingly, PizzaHuts system is set to charge extra topping fees no matter what you order. We ordered 2 brownies, that was it. Their system automartically added 49 cents and $1.49 for extra cheese. Figured it was a mistake, I mean who adds extra cheese to a brownie. End result, brownies came and thankfully no cheese, but the extra charges for the topping were still charged. Since no one seems to enforce the laws for consumers, unless you go to court over a brownie, which I may do a lot of cases, Im not over $2.00. I might do a charegback just so I know their bank will hit them with a $35 fee, but the only real way to get it into their heads as I mentioend above, is dont buy from them at all and if you want pizza, buy from a normal pizza parler, those places have more natural ingrediants then the big pizza companies anyway.

Reason for phone number

#4Consumer Suggestion

Sat, September 03, 2016

The reason they ask you for phone number is because it is Pizzahuts way of bait and switching offers and scamming the customer, which suprisingly they outright addmitted to doing in an email to me just recently. You see, most people ordering for delievery or picking up has seen their online advertisements. Many know and complain, yet Pizzahut still gets away with it. For instance, they offered recently a tripple dinner box for $19.99. Do you really think your going to get it at that price? No. Either the website once you go through all the entery will say your location does not have that offer, or that the item does not exist at the location. Try calling the location, you will most likely find out they do have it, they just wont honor the deal. I once thought this was due to different owners, but thats not the case. The phone number is thier way of telling you once you give it to them what you will have to pay if you want pizza from them. You should just walk out and buy elsewhere.
