Deceptive Business Practices!!!! This is an email I sent the General Manager on my experience with this dealership: Hello Mr. Myers, I used your online order option last night on a vehicle I’m interested in purchasing. I was given an out the door figure after my trade of $14,637 and an order number 22123190. Apparently this feature is a deceptive tool designed to get the client into your store and then attempt to “bump” them on numbers. I came to this conclusion after I was not able to have the vehicle delivered because I was out of your “delivery area” and after I spoke with one of your sales managers James Smiththis morning on my order.
I explained to him that one I’m disabled and not able to drive 3 hours from Venice to your dealership and secondly that my trade-in which is a 2021 Acura TLX Aspec with 4189 miles in perfect condition is a vehicle I suspect any half xxx appraiser could make a call on. I told him bottom line is that I cannot afford the $14,637 out the door and would need to be closer to $10k.
He insisted in order to put more in my trade that I would need to bring the vehicle in so he could drive it, that in a similar type situation the client was not forthcoming about their trade and it turned out to have a bad catalytic converter which was $2000. ( nice one, a non warranty part ) Really?? I told him I would meet your sales person halfway, say Naples if we agreed on numbers and if he saw anything wrong, no deal. As a potential client I got to tell you his story and excuses were insulting.
He even suggested the out the door number may not include all your fees, well I was given a break down of the figures and it did include everything, including your junk fees. As your sales manager should he not be aware of that fact?? Again, process obviously designed to get me there and waste my time. I don’t anticipate this will go anywhere or change how you do business but I felt it necessary to let you know.
