Pep Boys West Palm Beach Mechanics tryed to do bawwwdy shots off me. Florida
Walking up to the service counter at the pep boys in Lake Worth I told the manager (who was working the counter) that the radiator fan that they installed in 2014 had broken but was still under warrantee. I then placed the fan blade pieces that had broken off the radiator onto the counter. He says that he needed to have a master mechanic look at the car to determine what the problem is. I was dumbfounded. He is now holding the broken fan blade parts in his hands as he is telling me that a master mechanic is needed to diagnose the problem. Reluctantly I agree to leave the car overnight to be inspected the next day. I called Ofelia to come get me and as she pulls up to the pep boys the manager comes outside while eating a sloppy joe. He wipes his mouth with the back of his hand an apologized for being a messy eater. With food still on his face he says "good news the master mechanic has diagnosed the problem as a broken fan blade" and that the cost to repair my radiator fan (that is still under warrantee) is 225 dollars. The manager said the parts were covered but the labor was not and installing the new fan would take 3 hours. I told them that It wouldn't take more than an hour, He disagreed. I thanked my mother in law for coming to get me anyway, asked for my keys back and went to the side of the pep boys where the mechanic had parked my car. Working in the parking lot with an adjustable wrench and a pair of pliers I pulled the radiator fan out in less than 10 minutes. The manager was quiet as he exchanged the fan realizing that the job as already half way done 10 minutes after giving me back the keys. Reinstalling the fan took 6 minutes 43 seconds. The install took less than 20 minutes all together. They were going to charge me for 3 hours worth of labor and give me my car back tomorrow afternoon.
