My automobile ( BMW 325 xi wagon with 4 new tires - less than 500 miles) was towed (with a mundane (nail) flat - right rear) to a Pep Boys located at 6515 Baltimore National Pike, Baltimore, MD 21228. A technician looked at the auto and informed me (on the phone) that the repair would be less than $20. Subsequently, my girlfriend called (me) and stated that Pep Boys said the car ( and all-wheel drive) needed four new tires.
I called Pep Boys again, and the manager argued that the tire was not repairable. We decided to take the car across the street. The Pep Boys service manager reused to remount the tire and fill it. The car had to be towed a second time to an NTB at 6405 Baltimore National Pike, Catonsville, MD 21228. NTB installed a right rear tire at the driver's request as she was frightened.
- The damaged tire was repaired at no charge by the shop I use regularly. It serves as a spare.
- Pep Boys Catonsville Maryland has refused to cooperate, and the Corporate HQ refuses to contact me.
- We live in NYC, and I'm sure that's part of the predatory behavior.
