Paw house inn Terrible service. Lying owner. Unclean rooms. West Rutland Vermont
Nice staff and decent quiet location. However, I had to clean the floor myself as soon as I walked in the cottage. The floor was covered in dust and grit. Some dishes were dirty...especially the toaster oven and the coffee maker. It still had old coffee grounds in the device. I asked for dish towel for washing the dishes the came with the room and got terribly stained white cloths.
The second time around, I was given a clean cloth. Now, onto the bathroom, the pictures of painted dogs in the shower was great. The bathroom sink was so clogged that the drano that was left under the sink did not work. The staff unclogged the sink after we informed them. The water pressure was awful! The pressure from every faucet in our room was similar to an old water fountain in an elementary school. The dog bed in our room was ripped before our dog laid on it. The kitchen table was dirty. So, I had to clean that off as well. The owner asked for a picture of our dog which we sent. We saw no picture of her at the facility.
For $ 275 / night, no one should have to clean a room that should be spotless before a paying customer arrives. The place lacked any dog friendly activities. Sure you can bring your dog down for breakfast, walk around the property, and use the outside play area, but that's it. There is no eye popping attraction. I was taken back by the kennel area because it was not a desirable area. If you rent a room in the house, you cannot leave upur dog in the room unattended. So they go in that kennel. It actually looked dismal.
Looked like a nickel and dime shelter for dogs.
I have been to hundreds of motels, hotels, hostels, etc.. From Fl to WA. I have been in a number of dog friendly establishments as well. These guys at Pawhouse have a lot of work to do. Its sad because it could have been a B+ if they changed some stuff. I think that all these 5 star reviews maybe from folks who have either never really traveled the country, never stayed in "dog focused" lodging, or have never stayed at the cottage and only the main house.
Like I said, great staff. The management / ownership needs to make sure that their place is going to be a true dog focused establishment and truly worth the large amount of money that they are asking for. In my opinion, definitely mot worth the money shelled out.

Please see the unprofessional response from this delusional owner. Lesson on customer service, you do not respond to rational complaints by acting like a moron and presenting half truths...like showing a paftial email sent to you. For the owners of this facility I'm copying and pasting your words when are fraternities blog so that any of our national members who is Bono to stay away from your facility
