Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

From the beginning, they sold me this policy based on covering my Service A & B from Mercedes. They lied.

In the end, they find a loophole for saying they didn't cover my service, and they'll close my account and refund any monies paid which don't come close to paying for my Service B.

When my car was in the shop, claims wouldn't call me back, and I made numerous calls, emails, and had my service advisor also call, send them emails, etc. They refused to call me back and stuck me with a $557.75 bill. Screw this scam of a company who lies just to get you to sign up.

Mercedes will never deal with them again, and neither will I. I told the BBB this company is a scam, but they aren't honoring it as such, even though they'll say anything to sell people a policy.

Then they won't show up when things are being done to my car. Again, they said maintenance will be covered and turn around and say maintenance won't be covered unless they wanted to do something else. Of course, they did want to do other things, but I told Mercedes if they won't cover anything, don't do anything else but the basic Service. DUH, Ox Car Care.

They'll find any reason to deny claims, are incompetent, not responsive, and only had 1 person dealing with calls that entire week I had a Mercedes loaner.

I was quite clear what I needed to be done before I even took my care there, and they ensured me claims would contact me back. They did not, and I was forced to pick my car up because I couldn't keep the loaner forever, waiting for Ox Car Care claims to contact me back. BAD business practices.

Corporate said they couldn't do anything about how claims became despondent, and they owe me the entire amount I paid. Had they responded to anything, they would've seen that Mercedes wanted to fix other things they found wrong.

That may have gotten everything paid for. They just didn't want to do their job and blamed it on the job I paid for. Had I gone ahead and let Mercedes do the other work, I would've been stuck with that bill too. I was not going to let that happen, given they didn't want to do anything that week.

Oh, I contacted them ahead of time, and they told me to have my advisor call them. In the 11th hour, they said they wanted an estimate to be emailed to them. Now, why didn't they say that ahead of time and waited all week to tell me that? I did have the advisor email them an estimate. After I paid for the basic service, Ox Car Care wanted another estimate from Mercedes.

Why? Both of us sent that estimate to them. It was also on BBB's website. I already paid and Mercedes didn't want to deal with them again.

Ox Car Care was very unprofessional and my service advisor said so. What a trick on the part of Ox Car Care.

They had nerve to talk smack about Car Shield when they are no better and probably worse. Stop putting people through all these changes for no good reason. If they didn't cover what I needed, why sell me a plan?

What a scam, a crock, and a nightmare. I was going crazy calling them all week, and instead of honoring what they said, they just want to close my account and not have to pay anything.

I'm contacting any place I find to complain about this business. They should not be in business if they have no ethics, can't tell the truth, have staffing issues, and made me crazy that entire week. I'm so tired, I got sick from all this insanity.

I will seek legal action and add in punitive damages resulting in my illness. I might come back and add that to this complaint if the VA will give me paperwork.

What you have to say is redundant and pitiful. Nobody asked for your opinion, and it's obvious you don't own a Mercedes. Why are you here? Definitely not out of wisdom, because you're just a snotty guy who has nothing better to do than troll people's issues. Go away!

Snooty + Mercedes = Negative IQ

It's a 12 yr old Mercedes and your paying $450+ for an oil change/inspecton?  As a fellow German vehicle owner (both of mine are new than your's) I can tell you that my oil changes for each car, correct filter, correct oil and even the discerning head tilt from my mechanic as he inspects everything under the car is.... $70.  What I'm picking up from your post and your responses here is that you seem to be of the mindset that you own a Mercedes so your better than others.  I can attest, as a former Mercedes owner and current owner of 2 non-Mercedes German cars that your not.  In reality a Mercedes is no better a Chevy Aveo.  Actually,  a new Avea might have more options than a 12 yr old Mercedes has.

I can tell you now why your having issues with Ox, their tired of your attitude.  Next time, try simply being humble and accepting you don't know how to put a bucket under your car and loosen and then tighten a bolt and dump oil in the top.  It's okay, noter everyone has that high of an iq to coordinate their eyes, hands and mind all at once.

Stop the Harrassment

Someone at this company needs to stop the harrasser from Afghanastan. I don't care what he says and he's just here to argue 0 points. STOP HIM! It's bad enough I got ripped-off by Ox Car Care. I don't care about Flint's opinion. Make him go away.

More Than Oil Change

Afghanastan? If that's where you're responding from, no wonder you haven't a clue. I've been getting my services since 2010 for this car. Yes, they're creeping up in price and Ox Car Care knew what was involved in my service B. They said I could use the dealer, but for what reason I don't know. They continued to say it was covered, no matter what fine-print they found after I had to pay to get my car back. It is a service, not just an oil change. If this is all you came in here to say, I can tell you don't own a Mercedes and your rebuttal is an insult. The contract didn't say it was covered or not covered, and according to them, had something else been wrong, they would've covered it. What does that tell you? There were other things wrong, but the basic service is $450 + some other engine part I don't feel like looking up right now. I told Mercedes to do nothing else since I didn't know what Ox Car Care was doing. Unprofessional as all get out by not talking to me or the service advisor while my car was there. They also keep calling to sell me a policy; like I didn't already have one and have refunded nothing. Another company is recording a video of me discussing the details next week. If this is still around, I'll update it with a URL. Ox Car Care is a SCAM!

Oil changes

#6General Comment

Changing the oil in a Mercedes is not much different than changing it in a Camry. A car is a car, and contrary to what you might think, there is nothing special about Mercedes other than the price tag. I most certainly would not expect some fly by night extended warranty company to pay $500 for an oil change. Especially when their plan doesn't even cover oil changes. If you need someone else to pay for your maintenance, maybe you should have bought a less overpriced vehicle. You also might want to look for an independent shop that doesn't rip you off. I assure you they won't charge $500 just to change your oil and take a quick look at everything. That said, if you had actually read the contract prior to buying the warranty, you would have realized extended warranties are generally a ripoff. This one is no exception.

You're All Wet

That is what the services for Mercedes cost, and no it didn't take a week. It took a week because there were other things they wanted to do and Ox Car Care refused to respond. Spent all week trying to get them to do so. There was 1 extra thing Mercedes took care of that cost over $100. I don't know what you're looking at, but it's obviously not the receipt.

If you look at all the reports since 2016, Ox Car Care has been getting away with this scam for almost a decade. So, unless you own a Mercedes and have dealt with Ox Car Care's sales techniques, keep your opinions to yourself. You don't know what you're talking about, nor what I just went through.

$557?

#8General Comment

Mon, March 06, 2023

Wow, you paid $557 for a glorified oil change? And it took a week? Seriously, service B is an oil change and a basic visual inspection that any mechanic would do for free with an oil service. Mercedes really knows how to fleece its customers. An I have no idea why you thought your extended warranty covers oil changes. It doesn't. In fact, it covers very little and you'd be unlikely to ever have a successful claim. Next time, READ THE CONTRACT. You do realize that the contract trumps any verbal representations made by sales reps? And if you had bothered to read your contract, you would also know that you can't sue them, there is a mandatory arbitration clause. I'd say getting your money back from them is about the best you could have expected.
