In 2010 my wife and I purchased a vacation package from the chain of all inclusive resorts know as “Grand Sirenis”. In essence we pre purchased the cost of a resort room for 50 weeks.
In July of 2023, we were contacted by Stoddart Business Mgt., with an opportunity to sell our 35 remaining weeks to an investment firm in Mexico. Oregon Cascade was designated as the holding company for officiating this transaction.
Over the next year both Oregon Cascade and Stoddart, directed us to make multiple payments to the Mexican government to pay various fees and capital gains taxes which in total exceeded $72K. In each instance we were assured the most recent payment would be the last and that our funds were fully insured by their insurance carriers. We were assured every time verbally and/or via email that our funds were safe, fully insured, and protected against loss.
After having forwarded in excess $72K, Oregon Cascade and Stoddart directed an additional payment in excess of $17K. Also, at this same time we were advised by an Account Representative from Oregon Cascade not to make any additional payments as they were convinced the Mexican government was never going to release our funds and allow this purchase to proceed.
Given, we submitted a request to Oregon Cascade asking that our $72K+ be returned to us immediately IAW the provisions of our contract. Shortly after Oregon Cascade advised their insurance carrier was investigating our claim and we could expect a refund payment.
Oregon Cascade’s next correspondence to us was requested we forward a $7200 payment to their insurance carrier to cover a deductible. Having never heard of a beneficiary having to forward a deductible prior to payment we refused and that is currently where this procurement stands.
In hindsight it now appears we have fallen victim to a scam perpetuated by Oregon Cascade, and Stoddard Business Mgt.
I bring this to your attention so you can take appropriate action or if nothing more, be advised that these companies that may fall under your oversight or jurisdiction are involved in perpetuating fraud.
Additional documents and details are available upon request, and I would be more than happy to speak to any party that would like to investigate. Although I have no proof these companies defrauded other parties, on multiple occasions they shared this pending sale involved as many as 40 other buyers.

Your timeshare weeks aren't worth anything. Everyone who has "invested" in a timeshare wants to get rid of it. There is no resale market for them. Just look on eBay, many don't sell even for a dollar. I doubt you could get even $1000 for it, never mind $72k. The only people offering money for a timeshare or vacation package are scammers. As in, cyber criminals in a foreign country where they are out of reach of US law enforcement. None of the companies or individuals you think you have interacted with actually exist.
