Complaint Review: NORTH ATTLEBORO MA POLICE DEPARTMENT - North Attleborough MA

This is a police department that could have stopped a neighborhood harassment issue 2 years ago.

The chief was written a letter ...and asked why his police officers would tell us they don't really want to confront the harassers because and I quote according to Officer Grimm, "they don't know what they're walking into." Which makes no sense because they are extremely good at bullying a woman when this has gotten so out of control ...that you mention you don't want to live or you're depressed and you have squad cars galore. The police department knew we had 2 harassment orders against the neighbor at 2 different times ...and they knew who the neighbor was and they go to that neighbor that threatened to kill us among so many other things on video...and tell the one that wants to kill us that they are looking for me for a mental health check...as the neighbor we have the order against brought it up in court. He must have thought the judge didn't realize why I'm feeling the way I am. When you try to get answers from the chief he's never there or busy but it's your tax payer dollars that are paying them. In my own opinion he's covering up for his department and their behavior. 

When the neighbor was served the first time we were not sure if we could go home yet and saw that Officer Walsh was there ...45 minutes listening to the harrasser speaking to him. When we asked when we could go home because it was taking a long time - we were met with SGT CURRAN saying that he's being explained what he did (are you serious?) and that he can blast his stereo system full blast ...do burn outs in his yard etc...because and I quote "who wouldn't be very upset when served with a harassment order ...are you expecting him to be h happy?" I don't know what type of training he got ...but clearly in my opinion it is severely sub par. I

When you ask to speak to the chief about the behavior you're met with nothing.

You can't even speak with a lieutenant. They seemingly cover each other at all costs ...no one will dare take responsibility for anything there.

Officer Lopez and Officer Walsh are well versed on this case and when the neighbor decides to blast his stereo because he can't do much else as he vandalized my car under the first order and then vandalized our realtors car...so the people who were doing a home inspection saw this and backed out which is in the court records ...these two officers will do nothing ...they won't tell him to stop throwing off bottle rockets into our gutters ... But they will tell us to turn down the stereo so you don't have to listen to his ...as he'll blast it so you can't hear anything in your house ...he'll place it in a tree so that we can hear it more as he positions it towards our property and Officer Lopez will say he's not breaking the law so he can't tell him to turn it down but he can tell a woman ...all these guys are in their early 20s or 30s. In our opinion they definitely aren't trained well. They don't care if you're being harassed that the neighbor is going to kill you now during an active order so I expect they're waiting for him to do it then play innocent if they think you're ready to snap. The hospital admitted that the police don't handle it properly and even asked if the police are friends with this guy that we have the order out on. 

Sheriff Paul Heroux of Bristol county says talk to town manager Michael Borg...but he's never in his office either and when an attorney wrote him he ignored it. This is the way that town runs. Ignored an attorney...ignore you...and ignore death threats during an active restraining order ...
