Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
This is a bit of a long story so I'll just get started. We want a 2004 Nissan Quest Minivan with a dvd entertainment center and xm radio if possible but the dvd system is a must have. We've been online since we first saw this van in person doing research and we like it because after test driving it, it seems much bigger then the other vans in it's class.

We found a website that with good or bad credit can find dealers willing to work with you on obtaining the vehicle you want. Since all they really do is refer people my complaint doesn't lie with them.

We were refered to Midway Auto and I recieved my first phone call but they wanted to speak with my husband who was working at the time so my husband later tried to contact them and it restulted in only reaching him by e-mail that night. That very night via-e-mail I told my husband lay your cards on the table for them to see because this dealer is 2.5 hours from our home and you will not spend your entire saturday up there without good reason. To be blunt about it we informed this person he would not make that drive and return home with the van we currently have so he'd really need to make a deal with us before we'd agree to come in.

We agreed to have our credit run prior to the trip. The fleet guy said he'd call back in 20 min or so and sure enough he did. We made sure to tell this man there was no room to haggle on what we wanted to buy. He phones back and uses the words... "You got it!" What does that say to you? To me it says you got what you want or you can have what you want or we got you financing for what you want. Either way I look at it he made it sound as if we could buy that 04 quest with zero down and payments in our budget that we mapped out for him AND the quest had the features we asked for.

He then said come on it bring this that and the other with you and we'll make this sale today. My husband got extremely nervous and made the drive alone 2.5 hours to this dealership who imidiately says welcome.. I'll be right back I'm going to get YOUR VAN. 30 Minutes he's gone. Leaving my husband to sit and wonder where he went to get this van. Cleavland? The man comes back and shows my husband this van. Oddly enough he's shown an 03 Pontiac Montana Minivan base model that ironicly has a sticker higher then the Quest we wanted.

My husband probably got a little out of hand because I'm told by his brother that lives in the area and ended up going to the dealership with him that he hand to tell my husband to calm down. He accused the man of trying to bait and switch him and used some fowl words which caused other people to look over at what was going on. My husband was clear I believe he saved his e-mails with this man. We could work on the price but we could not work on the model and he knew if he came home to me with anything less then what we'd wanted he wouldn't sleep well for the entire length of the loan.

My husband was not going to work with them if this had been their plan. We did not care how many 03 anythings they currently have on their lots. So I've jumped on my wagon. I contacted the fleet Director via e-mail and had given him until Wednesday 11-19-03 to respond to me before I started publicly complaining. He never responded and that is just so darn surprising to me. While my husband was making his drive up there this dealer had phoned me asking more information and I said personaly "my huaband best not be making this long trip for nothing!" He assured me that he was not. He Lied!

You see every time you apply for credit your overall score falls 5 points. This dealer made us believe that we had financing. By contacting him I didn't tell him fully what I wanted but I at least wanted someone over there to pay for the gas used to get there and back lets face it. These big companies need a wake up call. I bet these finance companies that approve people for financing would just love to hear that they are loosing busines only because their potential customers refuse to buy what a dealer WANTS to sell them.

Frankly I feel that maybe every credit ap that is run and approved but not used should carry the dealers personal information such as Social Security numbers so that if for some reason the customer chooses not to purchase the dealers credit scores are lowered 5 points. Then they would be wanting to sell us what we want rather then clear the lots of older inventory. Perhaps thats the way we need to arrange things.. It's certainly a very good idea. It would make them think twice huh?
