Finance - Illegal activity from finance. I didn’t want extended 3rd party warranty. Russ made me sign two contracts in case I changed mind. After a few hours of research didn’t want and 14 days later it was in my loan without any authorization. It’s been a month and autonation still overcharged $5k stating in 6 weeks it will be rectified plus that I’m paying interest on.

Will unfortunately make a legal case since no one will address there. Car - sales nice and Bought car. However, despite autonation promise of "worry free” and "rigorous” inspection, that didn’t happen. After a few days the cars a/c never worked or vented sears. Was in service for a week. A/c addressed but vented sear worked for only a day.

After driving less than 100 miles and taking on highway noise tire sounds from rear. Brought in again. They said bent back rims. So where is the rigorous inspection?? Irked on the car I wanted to buy another one almost 2x price and after being in service majority of time for lack of inspection they offered $4k less than what I bought for. Basically used car scammers dressed in a tuxedo. Legal will follow out of principle, not winning. Beware.

And after research I decided no. I have documentation on this

You have documentation(that is something in writing) that states they will NOT submit the signed contract adding the extended warranty unless you contacted them and approved it. If that is the case then go after them in Small Claims Court which has a $5,000 maximum, which should be a slam dunk case.  Just the threat of a lawsuit with that evidence would probably have 5K in your pocket in 24 hours.

Not sure how that is stupid.

- If you don't see why signing 2 contracts is stupid...nothing we say will probably make any sense.

My point is that autonation was negligent with their "rigorous” inspection for missing basics like air conditions not working and selling a car with bent rims that could cause accident on highway driving.

- Was your test drive just as "rigorous"? Did you drive it more than just around the block? Did you even open the hood? Turn on the A/C? Check the Vented Seats? Listen for various noises?

If you did and they were working and you didn't notice any noises, how exactly was their inspection any less rigorous"?

A/C turns on..yep...done. Vented seats work..yep...done. No dealer is going to tear down or inspect any item that is actually working.

Since these issues didn't occur until after you were driving the car, how do you know that it didn't occur after you left the lot? I'm not saying it did, but nothing you posted here shows that these issues were present before you bought the car, and everything you mentioned was something that even a simple test drive would have shown.

Happy guy. To be clear finance asked me to think over extended warranty or not for a day. And after research I decided no. I have documentation on this. They in know way said they would process without my authorization. Not sure how that is stupid.

To date I have no $5k credit for sending in unauthorized contract for warranty. 2nd the car has a Mercedes Benz factory warranty. My point is that autonation was negligent with their "rigorous” inspection for missing basics like air conditions not working and selling a car with bent rims that could cause accident on highway driving. Make sense

After a few hours of research didn’t want and 14 days later it was in my loan without any authorization.

- That is a incorrect statement. By your own narrative you signed TWO contracts, presumably one was the contract with the Extended Warranty.

So beyond you being absolutely stupid for doing that...sorry but if you had no intention of buying the warranty why would you sign a contract stating otherwise? If your reason is that the finance manager "made" you sign it..BUZZ wrong answer. YOU are in control, the finance mananger can not "make" you sign anything.

The fact here is that it seems as if you got a very slick finance manager who tried to talk you into buying the Extended Warranty and instead of you holding your ground...you fell for the pitch.  By the way you seem to think that the sales(department?) was nice...of course they were nice they want you to buy the car.  But don't think that they were totally oblvious to what was going on.

Now, it seems as if they did say they would refund it, and for that you do have to go through the process.  Hopefully in the end you do get the credit back.

Irked on the car I wanted to buy another one almost 2x price and after being in service majority of time for lack of inspection they offered $4k less than what I bought for.

- So you are so disgusted with them that you want to actually get another car for double the price you just paid? You better check that sign above your head that says "doormat".  If your complaint is that they were offering you 4K less, again there is nothing wrong with that and the time to bring up any issues with the price of the car is BEFORE you purchase it.

Legal will follow out of principle, not winning.

- Exactly, as if it went to court the dealership would show your signed contract showing the purchase of the Extended Warranty.   They would also show your signed agreement buying the car "As-Is" meaning that unless you have something else in writing stating otherwise, everything and anything that goes wrong with the car is your responsibility.

I guess if you want to throw your money away out of "principal" it's your choice. Because you are right, you won't prevail because nothing you have shown here was illegal.

Where on earth did YOU ever hear of signing two contracts to buy one car? This guy didn't "make" you do anything. YOU agreed to this stupidity! If you didn't want the extended warranty, YOU TELL THEM THAT and you READ the contract BEFORE you agree to it. If its still there, YOU don't agree to it!

I mean, that's called COMMON SENSE! How many bogus, add-on, phony fees did you agree to pay? I'll bet you didn't even read that either! Absolutely incredible!
