Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Level Up Campaigns is a new "Devil Corp" that's popped up in STL. The way these operate is to lure in young people / recent college grads looking for their first professional job. They put up job postings on LinkedIn for positions like "Marketing Coordinator" and "Brand Coordinator" and mislead applicants with seemingly-professional (albeit vague) job descriptions. Companies like these are hard to research and keep track of because they constantly change names and shuffle around different cities.

Don't bother applying to fake marketing agencies like these, much less actually working for them. Here is my experience with their interview process:

Within a day after I applied, I was contacted for a 15-min Zoom "interview" for the next day. What actually happened was me sitting on a muted Zoom call with 20 other people while a young representative sped through a scripted pitch of the company. She made promises that this job is "recession-proof" and over-emphasized the Fortune 500 companies they "work" with, along with a lot of word-vomit marketing jargon that did not amount to any relevant or detailed information about the company. In the end, she did not specify what the job entailed and sent us questionairres to fill out. These included questions like "what are your goals" and "what are your hobbies", weirdly similar to school exams.

Shortly after finishing, I was contacted that I made it to the next round of interviews for the next day. I must point out that throughout this process they constantly emphasized how "selective" their interviewing process is, and that getting this far is apparently "a big deal."

The second interview was a 1-on-1 Zoom call. Not with a hiring manager, but an intern probably around 20 years old. At first it went like a typical interview, then the intern screen-shared a Powerpoint and told me more about what I would be doing. This is where I finally found out that the job I applied for is not what's being offered here. This is not a marketing position at all, this is direct sales for Spectrum.

Once again, this was a jargon-y presentation with no details specifics about the job, but later research online tells me I would have been standing at a table in Costco and pushing internet services all day for NO SALARY, making money purely off commission. Oh, and they expect you to work Mon-Sat from 10 am-7 pm. The intern also showed me a chart of how "growth" in the company works, and that the "really driven" people can, within a year, become managers with their own offices making $100k/year.

Total MLM scam. Further research shows me that would I have taken this job, I would have made less than minimum wage and been indicted to a cult-like atmosphere. Devil corps like these deliberately overwork you and take up all your time to keep you from friends and family, as you surely go insane and fall deeper in the trap. Looking at Glassdoor reviews for similar companies, any positive reviews are totally written by poor souls that are too far gone, using guilt-trippy, accusatory lines like: "This company has high standards, so if they don't see you putting in the work or trying, they will not continue with you."

Afterwards, they contacted me for a third interview. I declined.

Just don't bother with fake jobs like these. I'm annoyed my time was wasted, but the extensive research I did into this "devil corp" phemonenon was a fascinating rabbit hole and I'm glad to know the warning signs now.

Thanks for reporting on this, but as we know, these faux marketing companies change their name as soon as the word gets out what they are up to.  Glad you dodged the bullet!
