Rippoff Report

On 07/16/2022 I personally bought a JVC 58” Led TV (s/n Lt 58MAW705AP10611575) from Sam’s Club for $375.18 The TV was bought for my disabled 92-year-old dad (Marcos Laguna Sr.) as a present. He is a 100% disabled war veteran, so I’m taking this task as I was the one that also bought it.

On 10/21/2022 the JVC 58” stopped turning on. It was reset various times as instructed by JVC customer support. It will not power on. On 10/22/2022, I contacted Sam’s club but they could not take it back since it had been 3 months and 5 days and told me to contact the manufacturer-JVC. The TV was sold at Sam’s Club with a two year warranty.

On 10/22/2022 I contacted JVC I called JVC again and they opened a warranty claim for the JVC 58” TV. Case# 231214. They asked for the following information:

1.First and last name

2. Phone number

3. Shipping address (Cannot be a P.O. box)

4. A copy of the proof of purchase / receipt (must include the name of the store/seller, date of purchase with year, brand name or product description along with purchaser's name and shipping address in it)

5. A close-up photo of the manufacturer's label of the unit showing a clear view of the JVC nameplate with the serial and the model number of the device.

6. Send us a Short Video clip and few images of the Issue

The above information was sent to JVC by the 28 of OCT. JVC then informed me that they would contact me in 2 to 4 weeks what course of action they were taking (fix, replace or refund) I should have been contacted by the 28th of Nov.  I called 7 or 8 times in Nov and December but I was told they were still “elevating the claim”.

This tactic has been used by the manufacturer JVC to wear down the consumer. This has been a common complaint with the manufacture and it takes months to resolve if they decide to do something about it.

Sam’s club is aware that this TV (model: Lt 58MAW) that they sold was having a lot of problems or issues with the manufacturer and still continued to sell it.

My complaint is with JVC since they gave a manufacturer’s 2 yr. warranty. I will be more than happy to return the TV to JVC with their supplied box. JVC has never contacted me after they received all their requested information.
