JC AUTO MECHANIC & TIRES JANICE HOFFMAN and HUSBAND aka INDIAN Sold my son a Lemon (a 1999 Acura Integra) FORT LAUDERDALE FLORIDA
My son age 24 purchase a used vehicle from them. They knew that vehicle was not in good operable condition and because he's young and into that kind of car they sold it to him for 3400.00$. On the first day that my son paid them a downpayment of $2500 and he was driving it home with me in front of him the car bumper fell off. Because he is known by my eldest son my youngest son decide to trust him in selling him a good car. After the bumper drop off there was something happening with the engine to which he the seller towed it from where it stalled out to the shop. The owner known as Indian put a new fan in, took out the thermostat and never replaced it. After months of the car sitting in my driveway unable to drive and my son owe them $900. "Indian" kept calling my son and threatening him. He also told him that he took a loan out on the title and that they are going to come take the car away from my son. This prompt my husband and i to contact them and offer them $600 as settlement. But it seems "Indian" does not run the show, the wife Janise Hoffman is the one that makes all the decision. So I had to promise her to pay the balance of $300 on 12/3/19. On 11/25 I contact her and told her that I'm upset that they sold my son a car that need so many repairs and did not disclose the information that it does need some repairs. Anyway, she sent the text I sent her and the husband "Indian" call me up telling me oh he's waiting on the Fort Lauderdale police to come so he can come and get the car, because he has the title and he's going to tell them that the car was stolen. How ridiculous. I told him go ahead bring the cops because the wife didn't tell him she gave us the title open receiving the $600 and signing and agreement with me that the balance would be paid on 12/3. Then he sent me a text telling me he's going through the roof over this and that I should contact his wife. I never did but she sent me a text and I told her husband is bring the cops to my house. She apologize for his behavior as he is a Jamaican and was not brought up properly she stated. I told her I am a jamaican and unlike her husband I was raised as a christian and that I am praying that 12/3 arrives soon enough so we can be done with them. Now my son paid $3400 for a car he has to fix up when they should have fix it to sell it. I hope no one else get cheated by these people and I plan to report them to the Florida state.

I'm fully aware that my son is old enough to purchase a car and make his own decision. As a parent (if you are one), you would not sit back and allow someone to do this to your child.
I do hope and pray you or any of your family member do not get ripped off by someone.

Your son bought a car without having it checked out by a mechanic??? He is old enough to understand that you buy a used car AS IS then you are responsible for the payments regardless of how much work has to be done to the car.
How come you are filing this complaint instead of your son? He is an ADULT with a job (guessing) and needs to take responsibility for not doing the due diligence before the purchase. HE bought the car and is responsible to the remaining balance period. And NO I do not even know who these people are. Place blame where blame lies.
