I bought a piece of software called "Search and Recover" version 3 a few years back from CompUSA. The software maker is IOLO Technologies.
My copy, (I have a hard copy" does not have an experation date. I can use it as long as it works. The newer ones IOLO are selling have an one year experation.
When I went to install my copy both on a windows 8 and 7 computer and entered my activation code it installed. But when I went to use it today I got a runtime error. The software would not open. Two different computers with two different opperation systems.
I called in to their support and the lady said she would send me a newer version by email and said I should un in stall the older version. She said I should use my orginal actavation code to open up the software.
Well I have done that several times and I cant open up the software.
I called back and talked to another person who said my actavation code would not work because they had given be a newer version.
So I said give me the right actavison key and the lady refused.
They are not honoring their guarantee saying I need to buy a newer version. Yet the version I have has no experation dates.
IOLO is simply trying to rip me off in gettinging me to buy a up-grade version of the software I already have.
