HSBC Retail Services posts payments late or loses check lost title Carol Stream Illinois
I recently bought a motorcycle and the financing was purchased by HouseHold Retail Services. Within one year, I had to put a stop on two checks that they said they never received.
Of course they added finance charges. When trying to call for a balance, I was transferred to a rude customer service representative that wanted to know if I had the bike and if it was stored at my house. He was trying to intimidate me to think that if I didn't make an immediate payment, they would reposses the bike. He even asked for my bank account routing number.
I paid the bike off early but the company does says they do not have the original title. I have the duplicate so I know it exists. Now I have to send paperwork and a fee to my state DMV to get a new title. If you have to call customer service, plan on being on hold for a long time.
