I had an account with hrs/roomstore. I paid off the account in february 2002 and closed the account so no more purchases can be made.I received a bill in december of 2002 saying i made a charge on 12-2-02 of $479.
I made a call to them and told them the story and the operator agreed that no charges should be on the account, put the charge in dispute so i thought that it was all taken care of. I was wrong, they sent me a signed receipt of a purchase i made in august of 2001 saying that is what i owe, it is impossible because i paid the account off and closed it. So now they are saying that if i dont pay the $479 by march 4th that i will start accruing finance charges. I have since put it back in dispute and am waiting on the answer.
This whole situation is crazy first of all how can the double charge me for 1 purchase and second of all how can they put charges on an account that has been paid off and closed for 10 months before they tried to pull this scam.
