In February 2017, I ordered 1 item from a catalog of Heartland America. I am old-fashioned so I paid via personal check and sent it to them snail mail. I saw that the company cashed my check, and it cleared my bank account in a timely manner.
About 1 week later, the company sent me an email and stated that the item I ordered was unavailable (binoculars with built-in digital camera). I then had to send an email to them requesting a refund. They advised me that a refund would be forthcoming, but it could take 4-6 weeks to process.
I did finally receive a refund. The check was dated 3/1/17, but I did not receive it until 1 full month had passed from the check date.
Why didn't the company review their inventory before they cashed my check? Then, I had to wait weeks for the refund. I used to order from them over the years, but their Customer Service has obviously declined.
I am writing this so you can be warned about how this company operates. By the way, I found the same and smiliar products on Amazon.com that Heartland America has in their catalog. Also, Amazon prices are cheaper.
