I decided to order my dad an engraved Zippo lighter for Father's Day. One quick Google search and I happen upon Gunther Gifts. Nice website, affordable prices, great selection, and excellent reviews. Look no further, right? Ha! If only.

So I place an order on 6/9 hoping it will arrive to my dear old dad in time. I received a confirmation email right away. There's was even a link I could click on to "check the stautus" of my order. I tell my dad his gift may be a few days late, no big deal.

Fast forward to June 30th. It has now been exactly 3 weeks since my order was placed and my dad happens to mention that his gift still hasn't arrived. Honestly at this point I had forgotten all about it. I pull up the email to try the link to check my order status. There is ZERO information available. I try to call the phone number on their website, no answer. I send a nice email to their customer service email address and wait for a reply. I try to call again on July 1st, July 2nd, and July 3rd. I send another email on July 3rd. After not being able to reach anyone by phone for 4 days in a row and receiving no response to either email I decide to start the dispute process through Paypal on July 5th. That got their attention, FINALLY.

On July 8th I received an email from "Ofelia" that read: "I emailed you on 6/25 to let you know that the Zippo you ordered was discontinued and is no longer available. Perhaps the email went to your junk/spam folder?". Yeah, right! There is no way in hell it went to my spam because I made it a point to thoroughly check all of my email folders before I sent the first email on 6/30. Even if they had emailed me on 6/25, why would is have taken over 2 weeks to tell me a product I ordered wasn't available? If the product has been discontinued why is it still available to order on their website as I type this? Why didn't I receive a response to the two emails I sent on 6/30 and 7/3? It just doesn't add up. It seems to me the only reason I've finally gotten a response from some is because I started the dispute process.

"Ofelia" did offer to engrave a different model Zippo for me, but I requested a refund instead. Hopefully they will just process the refund with no issues and I can move on with my life. If they don't I will update this report accordingly.
