Complaint Review: Gift Designs Llc - clearwater Florida

want to give you guys the timeline of how all this went down. Oct 28th I called Shawn, I explained what I wanted and he ask me to send him the pictures of what I wanted on in the crystal. I emailed the pictures on Fri Oct 28th at 1:15 pm, at 2:02 pm I emailed once again asking him to send the size he thought would best fit the pictures. he emailed on Friday 28th at 6:51 pm with the size and the price of the crystal, $500 for the thin one and $900 for the thick one. Sunday, Oct 30th we went to the mall and talked with him and his wife, they showed us what they were going to do and suggested that the thicker crystal would be the best fit for what we wanted. We agreed that the thicker crystal would be a better fit and said to go thru with the work, we said that we would be in on Nov 5th to give him the down payment because this is Florida and I don't feel safe giving all the money upfront. On Nov the 5th we arrived at the mall, meeting up with Shawn and his wife, who showed us what the product (on the computer) would look like, he even came up with the little title to go on the bottom, I said ok, then gave us a total price of 1,476.00, I was a bit shocked at the cost but I figured it took a lot to do this, I agreed to his term of 50% down as I would not give anyone 100% payment for something without product in hand.

I had my husband make sure I was only authorized $700 down. Nov 12th, ready to head to the mall, I got my receipt and noticed he had charged me $999 for the crystal. When I got to the mall he had shown us the finished product, it was as they had shown me the week prior,  I then brought up the 99.00 difference in the price of the crystal,  I showed him my receipt asking why the difference as the crystal he showed us and the crystal we got was the same, he said that the crystal he showed us was a different crystal from the one we wanted, then showing us something we could not make heads or tails of, there were only two large sizes, one thin and one thick, he said the prices had gone up, then he said "my bad, he made a mistake" but the cost went up on the crystal but to make up the difference he would give us a discount on our next purchase.

After what he said I lost trust in the guy and was not going to argue in the middle of the mall. He told the BBB that I did not commit to the purchase until Nov 12th, it was Nov 5th, and when we came to pay the $700 down he did not say one word about the increase. I BELIEVE THAT ONE SHOULD EMAIL OR CONTACT YOU ABOUT A PRICE INCREASE WHEN IT HAPPENS, NOT TELL YOU AND SNEAK IT IN THE RECEIPT WITHOUT SAYING A WORD. THIS IS NOT  ABOUT THE $99, IT IS THE PRINCIPAL OF IT, IF YOU'RE A BUSINESS AND YOU FIND THAT YOU MADE A MISTAKE AFTER THE PRODUCT IS ALL DONE AND NOTHING IS SAID PRIOR AND YOU REALIZE IT BY SAYING "MY BAD" AS A BUSINESS, YOU EAT YOUR MISTAKE.

Also, I contacted better business burial and filed a complaint, the company was to deal with the BBB not me instead he started emailing me so I responded and we were emailing back and forth after about 3 or 4 emails he said to stop emailing me or I am going to call the police, he stared the email not me so the company initiated first so then he wants to threaten or bully me that's not who I am. The guy then says that he had recorded and taped our entire conversation, maybe he should provide the full unedited version to BBB so they would know exactly what he said and what I said. I will not be bullied.

I FEEL I AM 100 PERCENT RIGHT. YOU SENT ME A EMAIL SAYING HOW MUCH THEN YOU CHANGE YOUR PRICE AND DON'T TELL ME ANYTHING ABOUT THE PRICE GOING UP. THAT'S WHAT YOU CALL A GOOD BUSINESSMAN.  YA RIGHT. 

Why doesn't he produce documents proving the increase with the date and times from the company from who he buys the crystals from? To make this really simple, I was given a price for the largest crystal this company has on display in the mall, I was given a price verbally and then emailed the same price, a week later I put a deposit down, I noticed the following week going to pay the difference and pick up the crystal that the crystal was not 900.00 but 999.00, when I brought this up, he said "My bad" he made a mistake, then proceeded to say that the 900.00 crystal was not the one he showed us even though there are only two large crystals both the same size except one is thin(500.00)and the other is thick(900.00), than to attempt to make it up instead of sucking up his mistake, he said he would give us a discount on our next item. Maybe this company needs to have the company who makes the crystals, forward to the BBB the list of their large crystal, the one we bought along with when they changed the cost of the crystal from 900.00 to 999.00.
