Gate City Dance Theatre They are a scam organization Greensboro NC
This organization is a group of individuals that used to work at Greensboro Ballet. Since the AD was fired from her employement with this prior organiztion she has gone out to start a new company. However, instead of going out to start a new business she has taken it upon herself to spread misinformation and lies about her former employer.
She is claiming that she was fired because she was trying to secure better pay for her dancers. In reality, she was fired because she wasn't teaching her classes, when she did teach she would start 30+ mins late, she admitted to being unable to choreograph and admitted that she "borrowed choreocraphy" from someone else in order to stage a production of the Nutcracker.
In addition, she threatened the board of directors several times if she did not get her way in regards to certain demands.
Upon leaving members of her new board of directors have stated that their intention is to cause maximum damager to her prior organization. She is doing this by telling the media a set of lies related to her employement. Since her prior employer cannot speak on personell matters as they are confidential, she is able to continue to spread this garbage.
The reality is that she didn't do her job well, she is hardly even qualified to hold the position of artistic director. Under her tenure the organization had many problems. She single handedly decimated the Ballet School.
Her associates that quit when she left, walked out of their jobs. They didn't tell anyone except for the students in their classes. They left the students in tears and walked away. They would not respond to phone calls or text messages. Furthermore, none of those that quit were even qualified to teach ballet, and would never be able to get a job at a ballet company if not for this sham company they are creating on their own.
In multiple misleading news articles this artisitic director at Gate City Dance Theatre has said that she believes all bodies are beutiful and capable of dance. However, according to their former students they would regularly fat shame students and make them feel inferior for their body shape/size.
