I pay 3x the minimum or more on all my credit cards, First Premier Bank is no exception.
I've had this "First Premier Credit Card" for 7-8 months now, never requested an increase and only used it for a couple of purchases.
For payment I used their website www.firstpremier.com and paid by bank transfer from checking.
In the beginning of March I decided to round off the dollar amount and sent them $9 by online transfer and a couple of weeks later I received a letter from First Premier Bank stating that they suspended my account due to "suspicious" activity. First Premier Bank stated that they wanted a fax or a letter from my bank on their letterhead stating that I'm the authorized user on the checking account and if the $9 had cleared. 1st if the $9 hadn't cleared by now it would've been returned a longtime ago 2nd. I've always used online pay with this entity called First Premier Bank and never had issues with my payments not clearing not with them or any other credit card company.
My bank officer wrote the letter faxed it 2 weeks ago and mailed the original the same day in the banks envelope, with their letterhead and their postage.
The bank officer told me that this is the 1st time she has ever had to write a letter like this and that it's very strange.
She told me to make sure I pay this one off fast and be done with First Premier Bank as their request was very questionable.
I am aware it's a sub-prime card but I didn't read the fine print (yup dumb move), I have 2 CAP1 CC's a Wells Fargo and some others, I am sure to transfer the balance of about $450 to a CAP1 or just pay it off once the suspension is lifted.
Strange thing though, First Premier Bank will accept payment by phone using a debit card that is from the same bank and tied to the same checking account their "loss prevention team" is currently investigating.
I am heeding my bank officer's advice and pay this First Premier Bank credit card off very fast, mail the card back with a notarized letter enclosed stating that the account is being closed by consumer. My bank officer is more then happy to notarize the letter as she thinks First Premier Bank is one strange company with strange requests and she was almost blown out of her chair when she looked at the interest rate they charge.
