On May 8th, I went to Firestone auto care in Las Vegas, NV, 1955 Rock Springs Drive, to replace brakes. The mechanics also checked the tires and recommended that I replace the right front tire. I came back on 06/12/19 to replace the tire and asked them to inspect the left front tire as well. They confirmed again that the tire is fine and needs no replacing. On May 12th, I was driving on 215 West in Las Vegas Nevada, when the tire, which the Firestone mechanics refused to replace, blew away and shredded the front of my car. Because of the very fortunate circumstances, and because I was driving in the right lane, I was able to stop safely without hitting other vehicles. I have filed a claim through my insurance company and also at Firestone Complete Auto Care (auto care indeed!). My insurance informed me that due to extensive damage to my vehicle caused by the tire, the car would be totaled.

When speaking to the assigned Firestone claim adviser Roberto Lamanna, #615.937.9149, lamannaroberto@bfusa, Roberto was quite rude, dismissive, refused to take an effort to understand the problem, and tried to tell me that I need to contact the company that manufactured the tire. When I told him that my complain is about their technicians refusing to replace the compromised tire and making me falsely believe that my tire is safe, he became irritated and refused to contact my insurance company, stating that it is against the Firestone policy and therefore he is not able to do it. When I firmly insisted, he agreed to call my insurance company and send a representative to inspect the tire. I will never know if that is what happened because I have not received any updates.  Two weeks later, I have requested an update. I received an email from Robert stating that no tire inspection was requested by me at the Firestones (I have both receipts from the Firestone on my phone application), and that their actions did not cause my accident. These blatant lies were sent to me in an email on 07/10/2019. When speaking to my friends and co-workers, I was informed that the Firestone Complete Auto care is indeed a company that cannot be trusted, it’s mechanics are severely underpaid, they are not certified even though they claim they are, and all my friends and colleagues were even surprised that I have gone to Firestone to receive service. Not only will I not go to Firestone or Bridgestone to service my car, I will make sure that everyone knows that their lives might depend on finding a better mechanics than Firestone or Bridgestone.

You responded immediately after my complaint was filed and your response was as rude and unprofessional as your email

I really do hate to burst the bubble of the imaginary world you have created, but if you look at the top of this site you will see a link called "Latest Reports" this is a link that shows the latest reports posted that ANYONE can look at. As for being rude or unprofessional, the ONLY thing I have posted is a reqest for you to clarify a few things you mentioned in your RipOff. Without this, as I stated nothing you posted shows any sort of negligence on their part.

These include things such as what exactly you define as "refusing". If you were so concerned about the accuracy of their recommendations, how come you waited 4 days to actually get the tire they did recommend changed?  What did the written inspection report state? What was the tread depth on the tire? Was there any wear patterns noted? Did they note any damage to the tire?

At this point I know you won't answer those, so this is about as far as it can go.

Good Luck...

Hi Roberto. The report says that the tire is good and needs no replacing . From now on, I will only talk to your superiors and my attorney because you clearly are an idiot. I hate to burst ypur bubble but some of us have to work and cannot spend all their time everyday at some Firestone shop that does not even have a clue how to check for a faulty and compromised tire. I suggest that you find yourself a job you can actually do. I am glad that I was not one of the many Firestone casualties, which your company is famous for. We are done here, I will not waste any more of my time with you.

Oh yes the typical "you must work for them" when someone posts something contradictory to what you believe.   The fact is that this is a PUBLIC web site, and as such the PUBLIC can and will post comments as well.  Contrary to what your desire is sometimes those comments will point out things that show you may not be correct.  I am not and never have worked for this company or any mechanic.   While I am sure you don't see the many flaws in your thinking. One flaw is if you look  at your claim "you never wanted to do any work to begin with".  If that was the case then why did they tell you that one tire was bad?  Why did they not refuse to change that one tire when you came in the second time?     Since you failed to actually answer any of the questions, we can only figure that the written report also doesn't support your belief that the tire was bad, and the blow-out was a very unfortunate coincidence.     Of course if you still think they are at fault, then go and file a small claims case against them for any money you are out.    Good Luck

I know you Roberto, I have spoken to you over the phone . Keep pretending that you do not work for them. You responded immediately after my complaint was filed and your response was as rude and unprofessional as your email. I now have a clear picture of how your company operates, especially when they employ someone like you.

Incompetent company, incompetent mechanics

Yes, I have a written report, two of them, actually. You should know what They say, since you are the claim advisor. However, you never wanted to do any work to begin with. You were talking down to me on the phone and assumed you can get rid of me easily. The insurance kept the car one more day for you in the lot, but you never sent anyone to inspect it. Your mechanics said that the tire, I asked them to replace, is perfectly fine and does not need replacing. Your answer only shows how horribly unprofessional you are and, quite honestly, completely incompetent to do your job. You sent me an email, in which you write that I have not requested the tire inspection from your company, which is a complete lie. You are clearly dishonest and have no integrity.

They refused?

So a mechanic "refused" to sell you another tire? By you using the word "refused" you are giving a narrative that you specifically asked them to replace the tire and they told you that they would not. This seems contradictory to the usual expected behavior of mechanics. There is a huge difference between you asking them to look at the tire and them refusing to replace the tire.  So why does it seem like there might be more to this story?

Why did you feel that the tire is comprimsed? What exactly did they say when they "refused" to change the tire?

If you are so worried about the safety of the tires, how come you waited 4 days (figuring you meant 5/12 not 6/12) to get the one they did recommend changed? What if the tire failed just happen to fail between the time they recomended the replacement and when you had the other tire replaced? Would you still be going after them...even though you FAILED to heed their recomendation for 4 days?

Do you have the WRITTEN inspection report of the tires? What does it show for the tread depth? What about wear patterns? Any damage noted on the tires?

Good luck, but nothing you posted here really shows other than coincidence that they did anything negligent.
