My wife bought 4 tickets for a movie called "83" which an autobiography of a cricket legend and the kids were very excited. However, soon she realized that she purchased the tickets right in front of screen; thus she cancelled the transaction and re-purchased 4 tickets for seats in row H.
Quite straight forward right? NOT If you are dealing with Fandango!!! Look at case# 20220106-J7LB84
For the 1st purchase she got the QR code which was for the old seats, for the second transaction we got QR also but realized (after the counter clerk scanned our tickets at the theater) that this new QR code was also for the old seats but alas almighty forgot to equip my eye with a QR reader. So we reached the theater and were pulled out of line as the QR code we had when scanned still showed up old seats in CINEMARK's system and all the seats in H row were occupied and they couldn’t tell if out of all seats in row H weather 4 were ours or not. So we called Fandango and we were told that the estimated wait time was more than 35 minutes- so we had just 2 choices:
1) Remain on hold and miss the movie to get the refund
2) Buy another 4 tickets and call fandango to get the refund
So we went with option 2 as were with a group of 4 families and being a kid’s movie my 6 and 9 year old were too excited.
Its been more that 20 days and all we have been receiving is the scripted answer about their esteemed polices which clearly state that FANDANGO will not issue refund after the movie's ShowTime but MISERABLY fail to answer the procedural gap of "what happens if your system doesn’t send out updated QR code but still the old one" and how is a customer supposed to just look at the QR and distinguish that the codes are different???? Fandango please name one living human not just in US but in the whole d**n world and is capable of reading the QR codes with their naked eyes (I at least wear glasses).
This is no longer a subject of just $35 but what is right or wrong... Filed a BBB complaint just now and now getting ready to flood every social platform and "small claims consumer court" and any other consumer rights' forum to give their consumers some answers and not just another scripted answer from one of their brainwashed and trained supervisors who while talking just talk policies and have lost their touch with empathy!!
I just raised a case with BBB and will be filing a legal dispute which will include:
· $35 ticket fee + fandango's convenience fee
· Embarrassment and harassment compensation (mental anguish) + Accidental but severe Defamation suite
· Lost time and energy and negligent infliction of emotional distress
