Beginning approximately January 2020 Experian has instituted an internal policy to ignore law enforcement reports related to fraudulent items on a consumers credit report. Experian has also instituted a policy of canceling disputes without submitting information to the creditor even if the information is new. On 11/14/2020 I filed an new FTC law enforcement report about fraudulent info appearing on my credit report. Per FCRA section 605b the information must be blocked within 4 days or there must be a reasonable assessment that the report was submitted in error. Both Equifax and Transunion are in compliance with re-disputing errors on credit reports, and they received the same dispute that was submitted to Experian and subsequently blocked the disputed info, but Experian continues to ignore disputes siting FCRA section 611a3a.
During attempts to escalate the issue for resolution I am transferred to reps in costa rica. I am writing this complaint so that Experian will be held accountable for this internal policy which is in violation of FCRA. The current ignored disputes with Experian have spanned over a year and it appears class action will be necessary to return Experian to compliance.
