Hi everyone. I am hoping that whoever is reading this, has stopped by this site prior to purchasing from divaslacewigs.

My insurance paid nearly $1000 for a wig from this place because I suffer from a condition called alopecia totalis. Needless to say, getting them to do this was a feat within itself. The owner whos name is Charly Sanders seems to have the sweetest personality. She was very helpful in getting everything processed. I thought she was doing me a favor by helping me out. That really wasn't the case. It was only because she was helping herself to the money they would be getting from this transaction.

I emailed her a pic of the hair texture that iI wanted and all of the specifications beforehand. When I got the wig I thought it was cute, but it wasn't what we discussed. I wanted the deep wavy/curly hair. When I got it it looked as if someone had hot rolled it with a curling iron. I wet it to see if the curls would stay - just one little peice. 95 percent of the curl was gone without me putting anything else in it but water. I didn't even comb it.

I called and emailed her about my dissappointment with this wig. I told her about this and everyhting else I thought was wrong with it. Of course she didn't see most of the things I pointed out, but fine. I just wanted a quality wig I could wear without having to worry about it messing up a couple months down the line.

Since my main complaint about the wig was its texture, I want to focus on how she went about "rectifying" the situation. Thank goodness she couldn't deny that the texture was way off. At first she acted as if she didn't know I wanted the wig to be deep wavy/curly "in its natural state"! Huh??? I didn't ask for her to style a straight haired wig and curl it. But anyway...

She had the wig reprocessed with whatever they used, on top of whatever they had already processed it with in the beginning. She didn't get a wig with the hair texture I asked for in the !st place. I guess that would have eaten up too much of her profits. Forget about doing what's right. Oh no! She said THAT wig was mine

After waiting a good bit for her to return it, I looked at it and was thinking it looks decent. I did the water test again and a lot of the curl left. Since the wig was MINE I put it on combed it out with a wide tooth comb and wet it so the curls could be uniform. (Please keep in mind this is day one.) My wig retained maybe 15% of its curl and the rest of the hair looked like an afro. Not at all what I wanted.  The hair is fried because of all those chemicals that was put in it.

When I posted my review of the wig on her facebook page, she was obviously annoyed at the fact that I did so. So she replied that the wig was paid for with medical assistance. I guess she thought I'd be embarrassed. Not at all. I have a legit medical condition. I have and still do pay my taxes.  I think she should should have kept that fact to herself, being that she basically scammed taxpayers out of that money selling this crap. But it's all good.

I don't know what she' talking about when she says "premium quality" with regards to her wigs. All I know is the wig I received had a lack of it. Yeah, she sells hair. Who she describes as her customers is typical for many hair businesses. But all that extra stuff she's talking about is what really gets to me. This woman is cheating cancer patients, people with medical hair loss and just plain old everyday folk who like to switch their hairstyle up a bit. You spend your hard earned money thinking you're going to get something nice and come away with a head full of garbage.

Yeah, she may deal with NAAF and refer them there to get a grant. But that's only so she can benefit from the grants they give out. If you owned a hair business, wouldn't you tell people about it so they can buy wigs from you too? I sure didn't "See in the mirror what I feel in my heart" after getting this wig from here. I looked absolutely crazy!

"In all of our 10 years of business, this is the first time we have been unable to satisfy a customer." What a bunch of crock! Many people like myself purchase wigs and don't post a bad review or make a complaint. I am sooo tired of paying for wigs - whether it be with my own money or funded through another source - that I intend to air out anyone else that gives me garbage like this. I didn't know she blocked me from her facebook. It's not like I was coming back to like her. As long as I got the word out, I'm fine. that crap about some of the others on facebook complaining about my reviews is garbage - just like her wigs.

She kindly puts in some of the specs of the wig in her post. If everything were TRUE about it I guess it wouldn't be over priced. One thing she didn't put in the specs was that I wanted the silicone to be DARK BROWN because my skin is dark, like say the tennis player Venus. This doesn't look natural on a person with my complexion. You would think that someone who has been in business for 10 years would know this fact. But even if they didn't, that's not what I ordered. If she doesn't have the tools to make it, don't lie and say it can be done. (Oops! I forgot. She doesn't make them herself. My wig was shipped from Peoples Republic of China - where they make them.) So even though she made sure she put down to "make the silicone dark as possible without it being black" on the order, the silicone was a clear/whitish color when I got it.

So she speaks to the texture of the hair. The order also says "deep curly (match to image)". If you saw the image then you know it wasn't a match. But whatever, I thought the curl was tight enough. The problem was it looked like someone hot curled the hair to get those curls in. I called her as soon as I received the wig. She assured me this wasn't the case. I wet a piece of the hair and let it dry. Obviously I was right about what I said, because most of the curls came out as soon as I put water on it and didn't come back. She says, "You wanted the deep wave texture in its natural state?" Come on! What type of question is that for someone who has been in the biz for 10 years? I've bought $9.99 braiding hair that sprung right back after a little water. BTW on Google+ in the section about your employment, it says you said you were a Hair Replacement Specialist in 2013. Its 2016. My how those 10 years flew by! Or was it just 3? Guess you will be changing that little factoid shortly.

I felt that there wasn't an option for me to get what I asked for. She wouldn't give me a new wig with the texture or color silicone that I originally requested. Her only option for me was to have that monstrosity texturized again. That was the only option she gave me. I know putting the hair through all those processes is a bad thing. You don't need to sell hair to know that. She wouldn't budge. I just had to hope for the best. Unfortunately it didn't turn out well. I'm out of a wig and I'll have to once again come out of my pockets for a new one. It's just not right.

Divas Lace Wigs Only Sells Premium Quality Products Priced for the Everday Woman

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

Sun, May 29, 2016

Hello, and thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to read our rebuttal to Mary Thomas, Bronx, NY against Divas Lace Wigs. Divas Lace Wigs has been in business serving women, men and children nationwide and around the world for almost 10 years. Our customers are living with hair loss, severe hair loss or looking for a hairstyle change. We take pride in providing our customers with superior customer service and premium quality products like no other company, whether brick or mortar or online. We also specialize in making your wigs and hair systems exactly the way you want. You don’t have to fit someone else’s mold. We are innovative thinkers. We make it, when others can’t.

We work closely with the National Alopecia Areata Foundation (NAAF) and many doctors and nurses serving cancer patients. We refer many of our customers who have been diagnosed with Alopecia to NAAF. NAAF offer grants that assist them to purchase a hair system and sometimes there is no charge to the customer. Our purpose is to serve our customers. We want them to see in the mirror how they feel in their heart.

And this is what we wanted to do for Mary Thomas. We realize you can’t please every customer and we are thankful that in all of our years of business, this is the first time we’ve been unable to satisfy a customer. As Mary mentioned, Medicaid paid for her wig. I worked with Medicaid on her behalf and after nine months, Medicaid paid us $928.00. Mary ordered: 14 Inches Remy Cranial Prosthesis $300.00 + $400.00 FirmGrip – Silicon Front (Breathable vacuum cap) + 175.00 Brazilian Remy + 100.00 Double Drawn = $975.00 + 28.00 Shipping = $1003.00 – 15.00 Membership Discount = $988.00 – 928.00 Amount Received = -60.00 No Balance due. Our gift to you! (If you perform a price comparison, you will find that for the product she received, it was not overpriced, but by some standards, underpriced.)

Mary’s main issue was the texture. When she received her wig, she called to advise the Deep Wavy wasn’t tight enough. She sent a photo. See image below. As ou can see, the hair has beautiful soft flowing waves. The texture looked to me to be the Deep Wavy texture. She proceeded to argue that the wave wasn’t tight enough. I told her to return it and I would send it back to the factory to have them tighten the wave. I received her wig and inspected it. I advised her, there was nothing wrong with the texture. It is the Deep Wavy texture she ordered. I advised her that I felt it was best to leave the Deep Wavy texture as ordered, but she insisted. She wanted the wave tighter. I sent the wig back to the factory to tighten the wave. When she received the tighten hair, she didn’t like it, either. She said it wasn’t the texture she was thinking she was getting and the now hair looked dry. I told her the hair can’t be texturized again, but I told her what products she could use on her hair because at this point, I realized there was nothing that more we could do for her. We tighten the hair as she requested and she still didn’t like it. Sometimes people need to consider whether or not their desire to have something is realistic, especially if it was brought to your attention. In Mary Thomas' case, she had an unreal expectation that couldn't be met. She changed a beautiful head of hear into a tighter texture that she still didn't like. The hair was beautiful before she requested us to tighten the curl. Yes, I did block her from Facebook because of her comments and at the request of a few Page readers.
